There's more chance of being kicked by a snake than them ever playing that god-awful Running Through the Garden

I think its safe to say we will never ever hear anything live from the albums Behind the Mask, Time, or Say You Will.
The white album and Rumours have been played extensively live. I wish they could dig deeper into Tusk, Tango and Mirage. Love that Chris is doing Wish You Were here on this current tour. Love to hear Straight Back, Isn't It Midnight, Tango In The Night, Angel, etc

You're correct. I don't think they want to stray from the "greatest hits" machine. They're convinced that that's what keeps them selling BIG tickets. Maybe they're right...even if that doesn't say much for "artistic credibility".

An odd song here or there is all they're ever going to give us.

Exactly...at this stage in their careers and possibly the last Mac tour, all the standards will be there. But I think each singer will pull out 1 song from the closet. But it will mostly be the same set. If you go back each tour, they do not mix it up that much.

Which of course is very sad for us "deep catalog" fans. But we're probably not 5% of the audience.

Hell, someone above said that BV songs would be "bathroom break" songs.

Hell, acoustic Big Love has been my pee song for years!!!!!

Say You Will songs were played on the last 2 FM tours - Say Goodbye in 2013 and Bleed To Love Her in 2015. Lindsey almost always plays at least one SYW song, whether it's a FM tour or LB solo tour (Come and BTLH on his last solo tour).

i agree with more stuff from Tusk, not just the ones they play regularly (like Lindsey plays always the same 2 deep cuts from Tusk - Not That Funny and IKINW and ignores all others).

also love Chris' BuckVie live version of WYWH. never in a million years will i understand fans who keep calling for deep cuts and then list sonmgs heavily played on FM tours but call for Chris to drop WYWH.

The new songs are usually considered 'bathroom breaks' no matter who is singing them. A Buck/Vie song would be a bathroom break at a FM concert, just like Running Through the Garden was during the Say You Will tour, and would be at the next FM tour.

I'm surprised people are sensitive about or surprised by this. I've seen it happen at just about every concert I've been to by artists past their peak.

LOL of course they were playing songs from SYW especially since they were promoting the songs on that album one of those tours
HELLO
I am talking about TODAY with Christine back in the group. She does not know those songs. But more important for a big farewell tour, they will stick to the brand and play a relatively big variety of hits with probably only one or two deep cuts thrown in. The Mac is probably the most ritualistic band when it comes to concert sets. As HomerMcVie stated we (this board) are only 5% of the attendees at these concerts. The mass machine and big money of concert ticket buyers want ALL the hits and no obscure or deep cuts.

you do know there's 10 years difference between 2003 and 2013, right?

they were definitely NOT promoting SYW album on 2013 greatest hits tour. they did a bit promote the EP though.

and they were not promoting SYW on 2015 tour with Chris either, but they were doing BTLH.

FM would be smart to alternate certain songs. [/I]For example, do Rhiannon one night, and alternate it with Gold Dust Woman the next. Both are theatrical in nature and require intense vocals, so Stevie could benefit her voice if she alternated them, rather than doing both on the same night. Same thing with Lindsey- he could alternate I'm So Afraid with one of his other songs with a long guitar solo. Christine could alternate Everywhere with Little Lies. Second Hand News sounds similar to Eyes of the World, so Lindsey could alternate those. Doing this would create more room on the tour for more deep cuts.

Imagine Stevie singing Storms one night and Beautiful Child in it's place the next. Lindsey singing Save Me a Place one night and Never Going Back Again the next. If the band just alternated their set list even slightly during the tour, they could sing more deep cuts without sacrificing all the classics.
i love your ideas by far the best of anything written in this thread.

and you are completely right, just look at how different proposed setlists from different people are in this thread. i look at most of those setlists and i severely dislike all of them. but i love what you are proposing, too bad that like you said, FM will never do it - cos with all their rehearsing, they are too lazy to prepare double the setlist... even though most of those songs they can do in their sleep.

Thanks! But like you said, even though FM has been lazy with their set list in the past, Stevie mixed up hers with her 24 Karat Gold tour, and Lindsey and Christine shocked us with their set list for the Buck/Vie album, so I actually have hope that the upcoming FM tour will have some real surprises.
