I am confused. I was talking about the use of the phrase "baby, I'd give you my world" in GYOW.

However, I have looked at lyrics online and you are right that they say "maybe" first and "baby" second. Michele |

From the LP lyrics:
Maybe I'd give you my world (the 1st time) Baby I'd give you my world (2nd time) Shall I check my white vinyl version of Rumours too? |

The fact he uses the words "show me how" in the bridge...makes me think it is 100% about Kristen and the kiddos. It's kind of a tie-in with Show You How.
I equate DYYM to Trouble. It's light, poppy, radio-friendly. Not my favorite LB song, but I love everything this man does, so yes, I love DYYM. I'm not of the mindset that every song has to have a message or convoluted lyrics.

The song starts out a little shaky, but I like the chorus. The 100 years line kinda reminds me of Stevie when she is talking about how long FM have been around. She seems to use the phrase "100 years" a lot. It is a catchy song but I hope the rest of the cd is more edgy.

Here's my review of Did You Miss Me.

"They love each other so much, they think they hate each other." Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way" Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart. |

Single Reviews from My San Antonio
http://www.mysanantonio.com/entertai...g_13_2008.html Jim Beal - "Did You Miss Me," Lindsey Buckingham: Buckingham has a reputation as a studio perfectionist and an eccentric, but this song from his upcoming CD is simple, direct and kind of rough around the edges. Charming, too, and still a little weird. Like a sketch from memory of an almost forgotten Fleetwood Mac hit. |

love the verses,
But the chorus is a little predictable. The first few verses could be from a 1979 Stevie song. Overall it reminds me of a perfect cross between something from Under The Skin and something from Mirage. |

Any one think that it could possibly be about both Kristen and Stevie? Maybe he's not so linear he writes about one subject. Maybe this is a hybrid? |

I'm more of the "hey, this sounds good, so I'll use it in the song I'm working on" school of thought. I don't think everything he wrote is necessarily personal. I know that not all of my songs are. Some are about other people and what I thought they might have been feeling at a certain time or place. Or, sometimes I just write words that fit the mood of a song and they have no personal connection at all. It just might be ideas about fictional people rolling around in his head. To me, the song sounds like it could be about veterans being away from their families.
