Default I heard...

Got a Hold On Me at the mall yesterday. Highly unexpected. The day before that, I heard Gypsy (which caused me to grab hold of my friend, and yell "OMG LISTEN! STEVIE!!!!", in the middle of the food court)... and as I was leaving, I caught Heart's These Dreams.

It's been a good couple of days for the mall playlist! I think they know when I'm coming.

A few years ago, I heard "Got A Hold On Me" in the grocery store, which was a surprise. I also heard "Friend" a few times when ITM came out. Recently though, I haven't heard much of either Christine or Fleetwood Mac.

I've yet to hear anything from ITM (Friend or You Are) on the radio. I doubt I ever will. I hear FM on the radio all the time-- Usually Don't Stop or Go Your Own Way. I heard You Make Loving Fun awhile ago. But when it comes to solo Chris stuff being played, it's rare, so I got a little excited.

THE most obscure Mac-related song I've ever heard in a store or the mall was Billy Burnette's "This Love (Ain't Long For This World)."

I wouldn't even recognize it if I heard it. I did find an old book in the library today, Rock Encyclopedia Vol 3 or something to that effect from '86, which Chris, Lindsey and Stevie were all in. On the page right after Lindsey (going in alphabetical order) was Billy. I thought it was a little weird, considering he would go on to be one of his replacements for the TITN tour in 1987.

I'm watching Season I of Alias. And I heard Songbird (sung by Chris) and the next ep Landslide (sung by someone else).

Got A hold On Me would seem to be a good fit for the type of music format a store would want to play. Pleasant to listen to.

There is something about hearing an awesome song when you're not expecting to.
