She was one of his closest friends.
It would be great if we could keep the spirit of these posts in support of FM, it’s members and the fans. All personal issues should be dealt with on your own - or with a therapist. Today is Tom Petty’s funeral. |

This comment suggests that after posting a deliberately inflammatory comment, you're now tweaking people and amusing yourself.
Stating an opinion is one thing, but trolling is another. Refrain from the incendiary language. |

The life size paper doll was a promo for Joe Walsh at the time. There are photos of it out there. I'm pretty sure Don Henley was the one who told her "love doesn't make a clean break" and "don't buy that doll."

Yes, I remember there being a discussion about how unlikely it would be to walk into a record store and see a life-sized poster of Walsh, but then someone else said that they HAD seen one.

I'm never going to get over the idea of Stevie actually wanting to buy a Joe Walsh life-size "paper doll".

Thank you. I wish I could find a picture of the paper doll.

I looked on ebay today. Searched for record store displays, life size cut outs, anything I could think of but no luck. Mostly just vinyl and posters. I have a hard time imagining a life sized cardboard Joe Walsh.

There's lots of Stevie in Rolling Stone magazine's tribute to Tom Petty.
In reference to his being honored by MusiCares: Stevie Nicks reprised her duet with Petty, "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around," a Top 5 hit in 1981. The Fleetwood Mac singer attributes his uncanny ability to write for and about women--the scrappy fighters in that song and 1978's "Listen to Her Heart"; the restless dreamer in "American Girl"; the romantic ideal in "Wildflowers"--to "the really strong women" around Petty: his first wife, Jane; their two daughters, Adria and AnnaKim; and his second wife, Dana, whom he married in 2001. "Tom was a completely masculine personality," Nicks says, "but it softened him and made him much more understanding." Nicks, who first met Petty in 1978, "was never afraid to pick up the phone and explain a situation to him. And he would just talk me down." Then later, on Petty's dark side: Nicks credits [Mike] Campbell with being a vital, balancing force in Petty's life. "Michael is such a gentle soul," she says. "Michael and Tom were able to get through anything because they were the yin and yang of it." Petty was "in some ways not the easiest person to get along with. Michael was able to be the calming factor." |

The one with him in the Gibson shirt is the one she wanted to buy. On another note Joe posted a picture on his Twitter dressed as the pope for Halloween. He seems like he would be a fun guy to hang out with.
