Right. It seems to be just an unfortunate case of bad timing. Odds are it was likely to happen at some point. This isn't the first time a headline band has had to unexpectedly cancel a show.

I have empathy for those who had tickets to the Manchester show. It's understandable to be angry and disappointed. But making the implication that the band deliberately and insensitively cancelled that show to prepare for the festival show is ill-conceived.

They have a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility to their fans. They've been a solid and consistent work horse on this long tour. Their show is tight and lock-step; I highly doubt they would carelessly drop a big show on the flimsy premise of "preparation." Aside from the size of audience or significance of the event, how is this show any different from all the shows they've performed thus far?

From a PR stance, they just failed to personally and properly acknowledge/express regret. To assume they were cold, calculating and uncaring is just sour grapes. I don't think any of them would agree to a cancellation unless there was very serious reason (especially a health issue or an impairment that comprise the integrity of the show).

For those who want to squint at Stevie’s hat from a distance, we have Don’t Stop. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PniCnsK2ajY

For those who wish to enjoy loud singing along to the bassline in The Chain, we have - funnily enough - The Chain. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxca4Q88F70

Also you can gauge their health (or lack thereof) and enthusiasm, etc etc etc.

I was just watching the videos and had just spotted that cute hat!

I also thought I detected Christine struggling with her voice, still she carried on like a trooper

Great to see the footage

Ha, yep. No great pictures of it yet, especially as the front view just looks very odd. From one side. And the other.

Well I recorded four whole hours of Absolute radio to hear a few songs and the only song they played was Little Lies. It sounded good and you could hear the crowd quite well but for a four hour radio programme I expected more than four minutes of the Mac's performance.

There's nothing like a festival to prove the relevancy of a band

This video is stellar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxca4Q88F70

With a crowd reaction like this... the FM train can go on for a long while yet...

These all kick butt- even SOTM.

I'd expect FM to chart well in the UK this week.
Michele- I guess you could expect a spike in Ledge member applications too.

Really pleasing to see- and that's just the opener.
That sort of reaction and atmosphere might even sway Stevie Nicks' decision making with regards to 2016.
Come on Stevie, you can be a big star and get to fly around in helicopters.

Now, a new album with a Glastonbury performance in late June 2016 please.

I would love them to be enthused by this and agree to a future Glastonbury appearance. I can only imagine what a high they must have been on coming off stage last night. Some of the pictures of the crowd floating around online are incredible.

The Very best of has spent 3 consecutive weeks within the top 20 here in the UK. It's at #18 this week.
