I think Stevie is playing coy in that interview just in case Christine changes her mind and backs out of what she's been saying recently. It's entirely possible that as much as we don't want to get our hopes up as fans, the band doesn't want to get their hopes up either.

to give you some idea...it started to go downhill around midday when she locked herself around my legs in a shop, whilst lying on the floor and shrieking, all to get the magazine that she wanted. I didn't have the cash on me, but in the end I had to go and get some. She's a very determined 4 year old.

I agree. Plus, I think Stevie & the band are simply building interest & intrigue until some sort of official announcement. And since the "old" incarnation of the band finished it's last contractually obligated show on the 8th, that could come any day now. Not just that, but undoubtedly, they are waiting to see how John's cancer treatment progresses, too. His health has the be the absolute #1 concern of the band right now, even if they are playing that down in the press.

They probably won't announce anything until after John's recovered from his surgery. It wouldn't shock me if they were still working on new stuff, though.

Mick announced on stage tonight in Maui while he was playing at Uncle Willie K's Blues Festival that Christine is rejoining the band. Exact words were "This is the worst kept secret there is, but Christine McVie will be rejoining Fleetwood Mac!"

It was right after Willie did an acoustic rendition of Songbird with Mick on the talking drum.

I was there! I didn't video unfortunately but it's legit. Gonna make a thread on it just so everyone is aware. WOOOO!!!!!

I was thinking that they wouldn't announce anything until just before an album release or the start of a tour and that then we'd start to see the magazine covers and group interview.

So, I'm somewhat surprised by the timing. Michele

I'm surprised as well. I knew they would have to wait until January 9th at the earliest, but I doubted we'd hear anything before March or April. My guess is the media blitz is still several months off. Thanks for the confirmation though, Mick!
