Thanks Paleshadow. I guess people assume because someone finds something offensive they are requesting it to be removed. I can assure peeps that is not the case here, as noted with my quote above.

Anyways, I think I know what Stevie would really look like amidst tragedy...just like the rest of us.

I know this is intended to inspire guilt, shame, and seriousness in those of us who find this thread funny. But I just can't find such things in myself. Can't. Do. It. Must snicker.

Oh wait. Nevermind.
That's hardly the same. I never saw the movie, so I'm not sure how it "spat in the face" of Pearl Harbor. I don't think if a movie is made of a true event, and the movie happens to suck, it's being dissrespectful. That would only be true if they set out with the intention of it sucking, or turned it into a comedy. I feel the same is true for the 911 movies. It's not like they made a movie called "911, a musical journey" in the style of the Naked Gun movies.

Well, like you said earlier, these events are just too distant for you or not directly related to any personal connection to you. As long as people understand that like Deanna said, those kind of things are subjective. At some point someone could post an image in a scenario you or anyone might not think is so funny, and if people are going to say humor is subjective, they should be consistant. It's just a personal thing. As far as the guilt thing, I can't speak for anyone else, but that's definately not my intention. I was just commenting to someone else who seemed to share my feelings, then responding to people who were unnecessarily defending their sense of humor. To me no one can make me feel guilty unless I know there is a reason to feel that way.

All I know of you is my own interpretation of what you post. Which is all most of us here know of each other. All subjective.

And your interpretation is that you "know" my post was "intended to inspire" the feelings you listed. I am here to state you are/were wrong. OK. It seems there are more posts about what I posted than actual picture posts which is odd considering my initial post was my opinion and my (almost) last post was a thanks to Paleshadow for letting me know his opinion.

Bottom line, the pictures are offensive to ME.
A big "so what!" would have been sufficient.

The word "know" should have been replaced by "suspect". But it's good to have it clarified what your intentions were.

Curious as to why you'd keep looking. That fascinates me.

Probably. But then how could we have all this fun getting to know each other ?

What's next, Stevie on the docks of Pearl Harbor during the attack, or perhaps banging her tamborine in line at Auschwitz? It's just not the kind of thing I would laugh at personally, but everyone has a different sense of humor. I just wanted to let BTFLCHLD know I was thinking the same thing.
Thank You. My Brother In Law perished in the Trade Center on 9-11, so I did not find any humor in the "Tourist of Death" photo. Putting Stevie in say a circus scene, on a baseball field or something trivial would be funny. Using real events that caused pain, suffering and humiliation to those involved is not!
