We're expected to not be put-off by the discussions of husbands, wives, children, etc., that straight people post. We're also expected to not be offended or put off by straight people flirting with each other or discussing their dating and sex lives. But we should worry if someone may be offended by OUR discussions? I think EVERYONE should try to be mindful and respectful of other people's sensibilities and differing opinions, and things certainly get a little out of control here sometimes... but when I look around, sexually-themed banter and behaviour is certainly not exclusive to the gays on this board. And it's not exclusive to gays in "real time" either. The man and woman standing in front of me in the line at Subway last week, sure didn't seem concerned with whether or not they were offending me, as they French-kissed, pecked each other's cheeks, rubbed each other's backs, held each other's hands, and as she frequently squeezed his right buttock. Apparently they just assumed that I, and everyone behind me, would be fine with it because they were a straight couple, and therefore couldn't possibly be offending anyone. I can imagine the fuss if they had been two males though. I can understand if you find some of the more graphic discussions to be unpleasant (truth be known, some of the topics of conversation have been off-putting to me too), but to single out those of us who engage in "gay banter," rather than expressing a displeasure with sexually-themed banter of ANY kind, implies a double-standard.

So, now in this day and age when the world is slowly opening up its eyes and gaining a little wisdom, why not let the fags celebrate who they are instead of having to repress and restrain for a change. Quote:

I’m surprised it isn’t moderated a little better. I’ve expected to get warnings for some of the things I posted but never did. We can all have our fun but I’m surprised a few members never seem to get tired of it. Nothing better to do then chase each other on the board. Day after day all day long. It gets old. I’m sure a few agree but haven’t stepped in to state it because of the pecking they know they’ll receive. |

Sorry you feel that way, though. I meant no illwill with my comment, it was meant in a jovial fashion. But if you were offended, my apologies.
