Default Fleetwood Mac: At The Movies (playlist)

I don't know if this is complete, but I decided to put together a playlist for my iPod that is typically awesome. It is a playlist of all the songs the Fleetwood Mac members have done for movies. The result is a collection of some of their finest solo work, as well as a real history of the band.

I'm not counting stuff like Trouble and GYOW and Don't Stop which have appeared in movies after their release on albums. Nor am I included TV songs (Free Fallin') or songs that appeared on previous releases, even the Best Buy release (Steal Your Heart Away which appeared in the iMax movie prior to SYW!).

Anyway... Are there any soundtrack entries I'm skipping? And isn't this a fascinating playlist?

Imagine how powerful this is: Crystal followed by Twist of Fate followed by Touched by an Angel followed by Shut Us Down. Holy cow! They are still singing to each other. It's the soundtrack of their lives, truly. So I titled it: Movie Love.

p.s. -- They've been robbed by the Oscars

Movie Love

7. Battle of the Dragon - American Anthem (1986) SN
8. Can't Help Falling In Love - A Fine Mess (1986) CM
9. On the Wrong Side - With Honors (1994) LB
10. Somebody Stand by Me - Boys on the Side (1995) SN
11. Twisted - Twister (1996) SN & LB
12. If You Ever Did Believe - Practical Magic (1998) SN
13. Crystal - Practical Magic (1998) SN
14. Twist of Fate - Adventures In Wild California (2000) LB

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

I adore "On The Wrong Side". This is a great playlist. I'll be adding it to my ipod shortly.

This would make such a great CD. Fleetwood Mac Goes to the Movies or Stevie, Lindsey and Christine Go to the Movies

Violet and Blue and Battle of the Dragon are becoming two of my favorite Stevie songs.

Violet and Blue actually gives me the chills! [wierd lol]

However, alas, how I miss my CM version of 'CHFIL'

Seriously though, their soundtrack stuff is some of thier best solo work!
nice thread!

[they will be on the Aloha soundtrack] Entertainment Weekly

http://www.ew.com/article/2015/05/14...oha-soundtrack

Cameron Crowe’s romantic comedy Aloha hits theaters later this month. In addition to its stellar cast—which includes Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Bill Murray, Alec Baldwin, and John Krasinski—the film also has a stacked soundtrack curated by the Almost Famous director himself. Tunes by artists including Fleetwood Mac, Beck, Hall & Oates, Kurt Vile, and the Tallest Man on Earth will score the film, which follows a military contractor (Bradley Cooper) as he returns to Honolulu to revisit his triumph as part of the U.S. space program.

Good job with the list.
Does anyone know the reason Stevie did not give permission for Violet and Blue be used in the movie? I was once told the reason many moons ago but forget. If you watch the movie when Violet and Blue comes on...its not Stevie singing the song. Her song appears on the soundtrack though. Violet and Blue was actually a pretty big hit on the rock stations in 1984.
Maybe there was some other reason but when I watched Against All Odds, I noticed right away that the Violet and Blue version was different than the soundtrack version. Then I remember reading they had to use another version of the song for some reason and its not Stevie singing. Its been moons since I have seen this movie.
I am getting old and my memory is not what it used to be Does anyone know the reason?

Both "Rhiannon" and "Say You Love Me" are in the Paul Newman film, "Slap Shot".

"Tusk" appeared on the soundtrack of a horror movie of the same name.
Also IMDb has a list of all the soundtrack credits for Fleetwood Mac: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1393605/?ref_=ttsnd_snd_10

I have not seen this movie since almost right after it was released on HBO or something. I used to watch it only to hear the small part of Violet and Blue and then turn it off If my memory is correct the song is played in the first half of the movie and is in some restaurant/club scene. When I first heard it in the movie I just thought it was a different version of the song and I wanted that version of the song in my collection. "Stevie's" voice sounded so different It was only many years later on some Stevie website that I read the reason why her version was not played in the movie. I just cant remember why but that explained why it did not sound like Stevie. The closing credits to the movie are on youtube and Stevie is given full credit for the song.
This is an amazing trivia question because I know of no other soundtrack song was not performed by the artist in the movie. And to let some other artist perform it is crazy. But there is a logical explanation (I think).

I am sure someone on this board knows the answer

hmmm Missed this one:

Go your Own way - Forrest Gump.

The scene actually is perfect for the song and gets me kind of emotional!
