Default Another Christine interview

Here's another Christine newspaper interview. This one's from the New York Daily News. There's some real interesting stuff in this one.

I never thought I'd live to see the day that Christine's retirement is compared with Jay-Z's retirement.

So Christine doesn't know if she is any good?

Christine, my dear lady.....we the fans know.

Also, Warner Brothers wasn't interested because she wouldn't tour?
It's so nich to see a record company NOT be able to bully somebody around. Good for you, Christine.

One last thing. Christine says she will never marry again?

Damn! I was holding out just for you!

Question

Now we're back to the songs being about an affair she had.

First we all thought they were about Eddy.

Then they could have been about a guy she was "seeing"

Then they weren't about her.

Now they're about an affair.

Whoever he was he must have hurt her very much.

Which IMO brings us back to Eddy.

i agree. poor chris.

maybe it's a good thing she's being so cagey as to his identity. . .because if we were certain of who it really was, i'm sure he'd be getting a lot of hate mail. LOL

Well, I hate to admit it, but Christine's pain is all of our gain. I guess it's true that the greatest art is borne from a lot of pain. By contrast, how interesting do you think a Christine album would be if it contained nothing but songs about weeding the garden, baking mincemeat pies, chasing the dogs and riding on a scooter around the country manor?

I love this part:

McVie says the songs deal with a failed affair she had at the time. She has had two marriages which ended in divorce, and says she won't marry again.

"I have my dogs," she laughs.

Good for her!

Yes you're absolutely right. The pain of your Yorkshire Puddings not rising properly or a plant being attacked by slugs wouldn't make very good material for a song!

So Chris thinks she's not very good??To whom is she comparing herself anyway? She is terrific. Now that I have ITM and hear her by herself again I can see how Say You Will is different because she isn't there.

I am glad she told Warners where to stuff it.

As to her unhappy affairs with men, there's also the Dennis Wilson episode...

I do not know - I have had souffles fall immediately prior to serving 20 and that drove me to tears

Christine says she doesn't like her voice & she doesn't think she's very good. She either is VERY modest or she may have some sort of an inferiority complex. Anyone who knows anything about talent can easily see that Christine McVie is out of this world.

Well one thing: Christine is very trained in speaking to the media. Secondly, she is very humble and takes that angle, sometimes too much!

She knows she's good, otherwise there would be no album!! No 30 years of history either.

Like LB sometimes she just says the same stuff. She's been hating her voice for 30 years. Well if hating it got you here then keep hating it!
