This is all just noise.

While O'Grady certainly has a right to say what she wants, this is stupid. First off, if Bruce NEVER sold another record, would Bruce really be hurting? I think not. Second, he is so beloved I can't BELIEVE this woman actually thinks she is going to turn people against him... has anyone heard her new album? Is it any good? Third, I just hate copycats, and this just seems to be an attempt at trying to re-do the whole Dixie Chicks thing. I hope the Dixie Chicks made a lot of money off all the people who blindly destroyed their Dixie Chicks albums, and then, after all the fuss died down, went out and bought them a second time because they really did like the music! And you SO can't compare the following of the Dixie Chicks to that of "The Boss"!

Additionally, it also drives me crazy when people say, "celebrities should stay out of politics," or "It's irresponsible for celebrities to speak out on political issues." Why? They are citizens, they have as much right to hold and voice an opinion as anyone else. I certainly believe they should be prepared for any ramifications, but if they are, why not voice an opinion?

Yeah, dude, that's the point. Freedom must flow both ways, or it isn't really freedom.

All they had to do was paint the guy as unstable and then suggest he had fathered an illegitimate black child. That voters fall for this kind of thing says something about the nation in general, not just the scoundrels who concoct these tactics.

I am just curious, other than being a R and therefore the screaming liberals can never ever under any circumstances give him any credit because to do so would be and oblique compliment to W - has Gov. S. been so bad. I do not remember reading about anything horrible he has done I mean there were horror stories and doom and gloom predictions. Yet, I have not read anything that suggests that has seen its fruition

Because he hasn't really done much of anything, by all accounts.

Listen, I don't think the Gropenfueher is all that bad. He's left-winger when it comes to social issues (he supports gay marriage, for example) and a right-winger on fiscal issues. Which is why I don't understand his support for Bush.

He IMO is just staying true to the party, which I think is silly. Maybe he is trying to change the R party. If so good for him.

As for California, he took on a momumental task that I am unsure anyone will be able to cure anytime soon

P.S. I guess I am no longer allowed to say:

"other than being a R and therefore the screaming liberals can never ever under any circumstances give him any credit because to do so would be and oblique compliment to W - "

when it comes to govenors!!!!!

No, he just wants to be the next Kennedy.

ESPECIALLY if that someone has no experience.

Anytime. I just responded to the "Hillary In '08" thread, so I needed the levity just as much.

I think we are a little too well read sometimes and have little patience for those who are not!!!!

I was talking with my mother the other day and she started quoting Sean Hannity as the fair and balanced truth - I started yelling and had to hang up - lest I be disowned or be a complete affront to my mother

That's like calling Scott McClellan a messenger of truth.

You've been working overtime at missing obvious points, Jason. Tsk.

The point is to point out the hypocrisy of the very conservatives who wanted this guy in office when they are the first to cry foul whenever a celebrity speaks up against Bush.
