I love it, especially the contrast between the heavy production and the simple intensity of the lyrics, it creates a very intriguing effect: I agree with those who said it could have been a radio hit.

I like TISL, but some of it is pretty hit and miss.

-TISL is one of her best songs. The lyrics are astounding.
-Candlebright is very enjoyable, but can get cloying if listened to too much.
-Love Sorcerer. The Sheryl Crow mix is even better!!!
-Love POTU, but I prefer the extended album version.
-Every Day is boring and bland as hell. Really nothing memorable in it.
-Too Far From Texas can't go far enough away for me to be happy. It's torturous.
-That Made Me Stronger is unlistenable.
-It's Only Love is beautiful.
-Love Changes is very good in spots and very bad in spots.
-I Miss You is pretty. Too repetitive but she sounds great and the music is enjoyable.
-Bombay Sapphires is one of my faves. The new alternate version puts it to shame, though.
-Fall From Grace is great, though a bit too "manufactured" for my tastes.
-Love Is...terrible.

Much of the production is awful and they did something to her voice to make it almost metallic, but a lot of the material is so good that it doesn't matter. Would have liked to have seen Touched By An Angel on there, though.

I think it's lacking the supple quality of the album version.
I think more people feel like you do than the way Tiffany and I do about it.

Stevie Nicks albums are all about over-the-top production, so I can see why some people would feel something is missing from this "less-is-more" version. I miss Macy Gray, but I still prefer the alternate.

source of the TISL (A female from Germany) had the tracklisting on her website when the first mention of this disc was heard...But I dont have the URL for her website (She also had the artwork listed on her website that was basically just a piece of paper with the song titles).

you like way more songs than me. I don't like Candlebright, Everyday, It's only love, or I Miss You much. I love TFFT, of course. Can't resist the harmony. Bombay Sapphires i don't like much. Love is has grown on me a bit.

I'd be inclined to say that about Fleetwood Mac albums, in general... well, at least after Lindsey and Stevie came on board.

Most of their songs could be (and have been) described as "over-produced."
I guess it's never bothered me, because it's a sound that I've always liked (I'm the Jim Steinman fan, remember?)... despite the fact that I do firmly believe there are times when less is more.

For me though, I don't think "My Heart" sounds "overproduced," and I don't feel that way about the album version of "Bombay Sapphires" either.
The alternate take of the latter just sounds watered down to me.

But, hey, when you find something to praise, I'm not gonna argue!

Of course you'd be inclined to say that, but we were not talking about Fleetwood Mac or Lindsey Buckingham. There can be no doubt that all three overproduce on every album, but I just feel that it really hinders a lot of Stevie's solo material.

My Heart is overproduced to the point where it's, literally, unlistenable to me. The music is so cheesy that I can't get over it.

Something about "My Heart" reminds me of "That Made Me Stronger," which is odd because I despise TMMS but like "My Heart." Maybe it's the chorus - I almost expect her to sing, "Well.... you know me better than I know myself..."

I can't figure it out... By My Heart to me seems in the same vein as Touched By An Angel... Haven't looked close enough to see, but maybe it's a phrase that is repeated in both songs.

I think it's a beautiful, astonishing album. Too Far From Texas isn't my cup of tea, and I didn't like at first That Made Me Stronger (it has grown on me though), but for the rest I just love it. IMO, it represents a meaningful and deep turning point in her songwriting.

I think its a refreshing hyperbole , self-absorbed minimalism is probably intellectually trendy, but so boooooring at times.

I listened to it about 5 times in a row just now, and i don't think it sucks at all. I think it's gorgeous.

Romy's posts are to Stevie what mine are to Lindsey. Well, it's for the sake of diversity and all.
