^ thanks for the info splitting the WAV file & then converting those individually into MP3 should avoid the re-compression issue, right?

Two sides of a coin, I guess. I think it has more in common with Save Me a Place in terms of pleading quality, tunefulness & warmth, despite the difference in tempo (which in itself creates varied emotional response). IKINW doesn't have that severely abrasive quality lyrically or musically, which is the essence of NTF. In the latter, the repetitive moving from tonic to subdominant & then from subdominant to dominant makes me think "pushing & shoving," emphasized by the deliberately unbeautiful vocal. But IKINW is more searching & yearning in its chord progression & in the temporal chord values: the chord changes seem to me to be engaging in a dialectic with the lyrics & the pretty melody line of the vocal. Fleetwood Mac rehearsed it in 1979 but I never had a concert recording of it from that time. It may have been tried at some point on tour, possibly in Europe (like That's Enough for Me), but I haven't found a record of it. (I've learned never to second-guess the Tusk tour.) As you probably know, Fleetwood did it live in 2004, but by that time, the band was no longer a chamber ensemble. It was a committee.
Well, through all the cocky snoblanguage this is pure truth. I'm so glad you're back David. I ALWAYS play NTF and IKINW back to back when I feel like hearing one of them. ( normally, I play Tusk in it's entirety-because it's the best album ever recorded by anyone )

So true, so true

They are both on my favorite LB songs list.

Im listening to the Vinyl version, I didn't know wither that there was a different version on the vinyl vs the cd version of the vinyl!! They should be allowed to do that! So i notioced no Stevie accompanying vocals, which i like.

Yes i also love this Lindsey song... i've never thought about my favourite Lindsey songs though,.... i know there is one of Mirage i like.... um um maybe empire state of eyes of the world, cant recall

Thanks for posting this, Carrie, I've never heard the vinyl version.

I gotta say I do prefer the CD version though.

Wow, thanks for all the info. I've noticed the connection with Not That Funny, especially the lines "here comes the nightime, looking for a little more...". That reminded me of Stevie sharing the "downstairs where the stars all laugh and shine" in both Blue Lamp and "Welcome to the Room, Sara".

The CD version sounds to me like one channel is the original mix while the other is a different mix, and they just sort of linked them together.

It's a brilliant song, i wasn't around in the 70's , im only 18. But I do own everything i could get my hands on.
Ive always heard the early versions of the song and i feel that another song could have been made from that.
It seems such a waste to not use it, it's on the demos version of Tusk and is called "Lindseys song #1"
Has anyone else got a view on this?
