Los Angeles Antiques Show Adds UTA’s Tracey Jacobs to Its Host Committee
4:06 PM 4/12/2011 by Merle Ginsberg

The Los Angeles Antiques Show opens Wednesday night at the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport with its annual Collectors’ Preview and then Opening Night Cocktail Party.

As it’s a benefit for the public school arts program P.S. Arts, the charity’s stalwarts Maria Bell (and husband Bill), Kimberly Brooks, Julia Sorkin and Elizabeth Stewart (with tv writer/producer husband Rob Bragin) are the host committee as usual, along with designer Waldo Fernandez and pr man Patrick Herning – but this year, the host committee has added three new names to a list that’s remained almost the same for years: Kirsten and Lindsay Buckingham (Kristen is an established decorator), Glee’s Ryan Murphy, and UTA agent/co-owner Tracey Jacobs.

Asked about her reasons for signing up and showing up, the notoriously press-shy Jacobs – whose clients include Johnny Depp, Gwyneth Paltrow and Rachel McAdams – told THR, “Antiques are among my favorite things in the world – antiques, art, and children and animal charities, so it all added up to a yes. My favorite antique stores are Dragonette and Downtown on LaCienega, and Joel Chen on LaBrea. Those are my top three stores. And of course, First Dibs. I bought Billy Hanes chairs from them. I’ve never used a decorator for my house, ever. I picked out every single piece of furniture. It’s an eclectic mixture; I spend hours looking at things and appreciate the craftsmanship of things. But also, I love this charity. It’s an incredible opportunity to raise awareness and money.”

The only downside for Jacobs about the event: “With so many dealers there, I’m nervous I’m going to buy things! I really don’t need anything else!”
