Default Station Man, 1975-76

Hi all,

Years ago a friend maded me a cassette tape of the "Albatross But Not Around My Neck Please" bootleg.

I have since lost it but was wondering if anyone had an MP3 of Station Man from that show...it's one of my favorite versions of that amazing song.

^^^

My Friend from the UK is sending me some more CD's 1-1974 3-1975

I will check (if no one posts before then) and get back to you. He doesn't have the titles of the CD's, just the years they were recorded from.

It is interesting. He has stuff from the UK that have the Mac sounding so enthusiastic...like maybe the 3 Brits enjoy being home and rev it up a bit.

Do you have a date or location for this show?

This is the only version I have if you're interested:

i'm having just a bit of confusion on the dates.

I have the Wallingford, CT concert, but the date says - 9-3-75

and then also the New Haven, CT concert on 9-23-75

anyone here able to clear those up?

at any rate-here is the New Haven Version also. It's my favorite SM from that tour

Default King Biscuit Flower Hour Version

I have no idea what year this was --- But Station Man was the first song. You have to get through the introduction to the song and the concert, but here is the version I have. (God help me, I am not smart enough to know how to cut off the intro.)

To be fully accurate, it was the first song that was on the recording/broadcast, but not the first song of the actual concert. "Get Like You Used To Be" was the set opener in those days.

I have GLYUTB opening for the largo, MD show, south orange, NJ, Wallingford CT, and Winston Salem, NC

but not for that particular show. nor was it the opener for milwaukee, WI, or Passiac, NJ, unless someone didn't include it in the tapings. So is there a possiblity that station man was in fact, the opener for these concerts?

Well, there's always the "possiblilty" in the most strict interpretation of the word, but I seriously doubt that it happened. I would give credit that it was just a great splice/mix of the tape to get John Courage's intro to blend with the intro of "Station Man". For all the times I've seen them...especially during this era..."Station Man" was ALWAYS the second song of the set...right up until "Monday Morning" took its place in the set in mid-Rumours tour.

EDIT: One exception...the outdoor concert that was filmed for the Rosebud video. They opened with "Sunny Side Of Heaven" and then played "Say You Love Me" second, with "Station Man" third".
