if the wild heart is a concept album
about love affairs and hopeless, dreamy
romances -- then gate and garden is
that feeling that comes when you
FINALLY get to steal away and just
get lost in that other person, you know?

gate and garden is that secret smile. that
special look you share with someone, that
only the two of you see.

hey, maybe its secret love.
nobody knows. nothin bout it.

gate and garden would be a great,
easy song to do live. in the vein of
I need to know, or enchanted - but
so much better, in concert.
Love that you love Gate and Garden, an obscure, deep album track.
I understand why it's on lot of people's worst list.
But I love her vocals and the breezy musical atmosphere it creates.
The lyrics don't need to make linear sense; it's more of a impressionistic song.
It's a very pleasant listen.

I agree.. It's very beautiful and to me, the more abstract, the more beautiful.
