Yeah. I found it interesting that she wanted to retire after Chicken Shack.. I didn't know that about her.

She has always wanted to retire - she did protest a little too much, but I LOVE her anyway and wish she was still around with the Mac!

I didn't think she wanted to retire that soon!

Ya'll need to re-read my john/chris bio for a refresher. She was ready to call it a day and just be a housewife and actually see her husband once in awhile.

That was a good read!

One thing I noticed though was that when they mention Dennis Wilson's death they say it "broke Christine's heart". I'm sure that she would have been extremely upset at his death but by then they'd been split up for a few years and when she heard the news she was in Portugal (presumably visiting Eddy's family) That makes it sound like they were still together.

That's not the first time I've heard or read a comment like that.

I think I must be oversensitive!

They said something just like that on the Behind the Music thing, didn't they? 'Dennis Wilson drowned and Christine was devastated' or something along those lines. It's almost like that bio paraphrased a bit of the Behind the Music stuff.

I'm sure she was sad about his death, but hardly devastated. According to a Rolling Stone interview, they didn't part as friends. I don't think they saw each other at all the last two years of Dennis' life. Also, Chris & Eddy were just starting their relationship at this time.

this is a new one for me: (anyone else)

John McVie's drinking was unbearable; McVie had an affair with a music producer and nearly left John and the group to make a solo album with her lover, but he went back to his spouse, so she did the same

I think that source was Bob Brunning's book, maybe? I believe Bob Weston had said one day he'd overheard Jenny and Chris talking, and C was saying how at this point she'd much rather leave the band and be w/ Martin Birch etc. That was not a happy time marriagewise. I'm not convinced Birch was 'her lover' either, although I guess we'll never know LOL. Bob Welch says those two did have some chemistry flying about between them... but it may have stopped there. But then again an emotional affair can be as devastating as a physical one. I doubt John would have been too thrilled at either option.
