Hey Alison,

No you don't have to be a member of the fanclub to see it. Just head on over to www.fleetwoodmac.com and it will play when you enter the site!

Dan

Edit: Hmm that's wierd that it's showing you the same old one....I don't know what to tell you sorry.. Maybe keep trying?

Thumbs up Thrown DOWN***WOW***

Originaly posted by Down on Rodeo:

I can't believe the new sound of Thrown Down - an outstanding improvement - so much more Lindsey!
WOW!! this version of "Thrown Down" previewed on the new FM SITE just makes more sense doesn't it !!.....Its vastly different from the version floating around now...(I always hoped that wasnt the final version, even though its still very good). BUT this new version has those tinkling guitars like "You and I, pt 1" or even like Bob Welchs' "Sentimental Lady".....
And I love that reverb part where Linsdey's sings...we should be together......together....(echo),,,this is fantastic.....this arrangement is so much more timeless ....like classic Fleetwood Mac
heres hoping this is the final version....or a preview of it!!!

And Stevie VOICE...accapella...AMAZING!!... for a those of who are trepidatious about "Smile At You" at this stage ...should rest assured..

YEAH!!! i'm soooo excited now

Like last time, I think it probably bares repeating that a second generation soundclip on the Net isn't going to sound the same as the album track. There's a mushiness factor that creeps in over the Net sometimes. Just a thought.

Nice opening page to the new official site. I hope the redesign of the rest isn't too far behind.

WOW. That was amazing to see and hear. Let's all remember...the recording process is long and tedious, with many overlays and tinkering. What we heard was a song in the process of being created. By no means shall we judge or assume that this is the "version" that will be on the album. Obviously what we saw and heard was a work in progress. From that perpsective, it seems misguided to assume that this is what the song will sound like!!!

I'm with PenguinHead on this - whilst Stevie sounds great, her phrasing indicates that this was an early attempt at a lead vocal and the instrumentation we can hear sounds like a very rough draft, not a finished track. I certainly hope those rank "we should be together" backing vocals are eradicated from the final mix - tacky! I'm desperately hoping that the leaked version is a closer approximation of the final mix.

I think this vocal or one like it is in the mix of the song I heard. Its just the low harmony of it. Stevie usually layers her vocals in different notes of the harmony. But, the song sounds faster and different.

Excellent point Les. I'm sure you can't hear all the intricacies of the recording.

Stevie's voice sounds SO SWEET! I can't wait to get this cd as I'm sure all the songs will be top notch classic FM.

Finally something new on the Fleetwood Mac site.....I like it and damn those Maccers are looking fine!

Just to let you know...Stevie is singing in a higher key on the website version of Thrown Down then the one I have (actually the whole song is in a different key) ....the higher she sings ...the more I like it.

Sorry about that, but I didn't mean it in a bad way; I just wanted to show how excited I am, LOL.
