Break down of the white album

OK I don't know who started it, but someone on the WTTRS thread started breaking down Tango and we all joined in this little trend. So I figured we should do it for all the albums. Starting with the white album. And I'm sure this will eventually migrate to the solo forums and the pre and post rumours forums. But for now it's the white album. you can make up your own category names but make sure there's a Great, awseome whatever type thing first and at the end there has to be a wretched awful kill yourself type thing. There doesn't need to be nothing there but the category should exist.

AMAZING Out of this world- Rhiannon, Blue Letter, Over My Head, Crystal, SYLM, World Turning, Monday Morning, I'm So Afraid

GOOD- Landslide, Warm Ways

OK- Sugar Daddy.

Horrible- None

I love Rhiannon. I do wish she'd kept all of the lyrics in it though.

Yup, and I prefer the lyric "Taken TO the wind" to "Taken BY the wind." More poetic.

Thank gawd. I thought I was the ONLY person who liked Sugar Daddy. The lyrics might leave something to be desired, but the whole vibe of the B3 working in tandem with that honky tonk piano, perfectly captures FM of the 70s. Musically, it sounds like it came from Mystery To Me, IMO.

The overall feel and harmonies of this album is warm and beautiful.

I came into Fleetwood Mac during Mystery to Me, and was a Bob Welch fan but it wasn't until this album I realized just how quietly talented Christine McVie was. This album showed me she could perform and record with just about anyone. Fortunately for FMac it was SNicks and LBuckingham!

It definitely throws back to some of Chris's earlier work such as Homeward Bound, which I love as well.
