Yes he did, it was an interesting mention

Christine's not on board any more. Is that irrevocable?
I believe so. We miss her in her absence. She just had enough of the showbiz part of it. She's actually doing something on her own now, which we're all really pleased to hear - playing music and writing great songs again. She just wanted out of the business. We talk a lot: it's just - if she was a road dog and fancied all the stuff that we're gonna do for the next two years . . .Christine's thing is "I'd love to make an album, but I don't wanna be in a band".
There's a point where everyone makes a decision. None of us are spring chickens. And you think, "What's the quality of life that I want?" It was time for her to do what she wanted to do. About a year ago there was a 'maybe' thing, but it just never happened - and we've made a fantastic album and it's a new dawn. The four of us are very happy doing what we're doing.

as well as the one of Jeremy Spencer

We had heard that Jeremy Spencer disappeared. Is this true?
No. He's in the States. He actually lives in New Mexico. I don't think (the group he joined) is called the Children Of God now, but he's a Christian and he has very strong beliefs. He's totally intact with great humour. He's remarried. Altogether, I think he's got eight children.
In fact, about three months ago Jeremy came down and we actually sat in the studio and recorded a couple of songs, just for fun, you know, to see if the old blues formula was still intact - and he's playing great.

Great news. I think the c.d will be out in end of Feb.
Interisting about Sheryl Crows band and touring. I was just reading on Sheryl's site that an exciting thing was happening in March with her and her band. Could this be the start of the Fleetwood Mac tour.

Thanks for posting these articles. It's VERY interesting what Mick said about Christine and her solo album. It sounds like everyone is fine with her doing this on her own.

Thanks for posting these...some very interesting info there, especially about the Sheryl Crow/tour thing and his comments on Christine's soul album.

Oh, it is about time Jeremy Spencer got the hell out of Sri Lanka! Now THAT's exciting news, that he's living in the US!!

Maybe he'll do a benefit tour around the US now! Hmmmm, maybe even a guest appearance at some upcoming Splinter Group show???

Can anyone describe what this "Samantha Fox" disaster is? I have no clue about it, and yet that third interviewer talks about it as if everyone knows what happened, so I'm kind of interested. From Mick's response, it seems pretty terrible, but his response doesn't really help clarify WHAT happened...it just clarifies that something bad happened.

I haven't seen it, so I can only go by what I've read/heard... but apparently Mick and Samantha Fox (famous for songs such as "Naughty Girls Need Love Too") did a less than stellar job of hosting the Brit Awards back in 1989.

Whether they were downright boring, or just inept, I don't know. Perhaps it was a little of both.

But that appearance is often mentioned when discussing Mick's downward spiral throughout the first half of the 90s.

Thanks very much for taking the time to type those out Neil, much appreciated.

It's funny how Mick misunderstood what the interviewer was asking when he was asked about the "Clinton fairwell concert"...he replied talking about the Clinton inauguration party!

Very cool that Jeremy decided to pop in for a jam or two..!lol!...I wonder if those recordings will ever surface...! Let's hope!

and by the way, Johnny Stew,

LOL! No digging out page 3 pics to post anyone now, we'd all be in trouble (and yes, I've seen them (the "pics" that is!) but no, I don't own any copies of them!)!

Yeah, I guess I should have qualified that statement with, "musically she's most famous for...."

Thanks very much for the transcriptions and links Neil!

Just to add to what Johnny wrote about the Brits: It was an unmitigated disaster of an awards show. I remember seeing the portions that were broadcast in the U.S. back then. Even those were painful after having been edited, so I can only imagine what the whole show must have been like.

Mick and Samantha Fox were hosting the awards show and literally almost nothing worked right. Either the cue cards or teleprompter wasn't working right, or if they had ear pieces, they weren't being told the correct information. It left Mick and Samantha often looking around not knowing what to do or just guessing about what was supposed to happen next. It was extremely disorganized and nothing was timed correctly, so people were walking out on stage before they were introduced and those that were introduced were often times not the people who walked out on stage. And when those people got to the microphone to introduce an act or present an award, they too clearly were struggling with what it was they were supposed to do and say. The sound was awful.

On top of that, it was also a comedic pairing of Mick at 6'6" and Samantha Fox at maybe 5'0".

It was just so B A D that it became hysterical to watch. I'm sure Mick was terribly embarrassed.
