The only reason that might make the whole waiting acceptable would be, that instead he uses the new songs he claimed to have written during the tour.
Oh! He's not using the demos that have been floating around for GOS? I guess I had the whole thing wrong for awhile.

Yes, it seems rather...odd to play Vegas like that. She's not Celine, she's not Charo, and she's not Elton. I don't understand how her show is going to go over in Vegas, to be honest. It's not a big theatrical extravaganza and would seem to stick out like a sore thumb when it comes to Vegas entertainment. I'm sure all the hits will be played in favor of lesser-known stuff in order to sell tickets to tourists.

How's her show going to go over? She doesn't have to appeal to the Vegas crowd, cause, in case you haven't noticed by the small sampling here, every Stevie fan across the country (and possibly other countries) is going to trek their ass to Vegas to see her play.

Well, I doubt that this board is indicative of how many Stevie fans are going to go out of their way to see her in Vegas. There are many, but not that many.

I hope y'all don't mind spening top dollar for tickets and airfare to hear her play the same old stuff again, because I'd be willing to bet my life (not that that's a whole helluva lot ) that they're going to make every attempt to appeal to the casual fans and tourists than they are to the die-hard fans. I mean, people are saying they hope to hear stuff like Bella Donna and Sisters of the Moon. No way! I do hope I'm wrong, though.

Sorry for bringing this issue over into Lindsey land. But he sure as hell wouldn't fill in for Celine.
There was a time when I would have said he'd never sell "Go Your Own Way" to be used in cheesy National Rent-a-Car commercials, but that didn't stop it from happening.

And wasn't Lindsey one of the members of that band who played at the Chumash casino this past summer? Or is it only Las Vegas casinos that make you a "sell-out"?

I'm not sure why one must be considered a "sell-out" if one plays in the town of Las Vegas. It's just another venue that happens to be located in a casino.

I agree. And she's only there for a week or whatever. It's really not sell outish at all, it's just a week engagement at a venue in Vegas...maybe if you are British it seems different...

Exactly. I also thinks it turns her into more of a novelty act than she really is.

As far as I can tell, LIndsey would hardly do anything, ever. album? No. But you can be snobby about Vegas if you want!

Well, I think the whole band is comprised of sell-outs, save John McVie who doesn't give a flying fig about anything other than his bass guitar. But I also think that they were a corporate act to begin with, so they really didn't have anything to sell-out.

I just would like Stevie to be following the Petty and Springsteen path rather than be a night out for tourists.

It's not playing Vegas it's where she's playing. I admit I don't know much about the Mac playing Chumash casino, but I imagine it was purely a stop on their world tour? Actually I guess they could do a Vegas residency, they do play the same old, well-rehearsed show every night afterall.
Ooh, are you channeling my wicked tongue over there in the UK, dear?

It's ok. Now you and josh (YB) can commiserate over the end of the world horror that is Stevie in Vegas, he likes that sort of thing.

Oh, no, not then, I meant as soon as Stevie and Lindsey joined.

I've always wished that they would tour small venues like those other artists, but I've come to realize that it will never happen. It's about the money these days, not the art of live performance. They should realize, though, that such intimate tours do nothing but strengthen their relationship with their fan base. Bowie, Petty, and Blondie certainly realized that.

Whatev. Didn't you just tell me you were saving your money in case stevie does play in the states? Guess this wouldn't apply, though, cause it's Vegas and all. Guess I won't see you there.

This is just my observation, but I don't think Sharon is exactly keen on spending a ****load of money to see Stevie play Vegas, only to hear her sing the same old thing. I think she's saving her money for when and if Stevie returns to the UK, which I suspect would be in smaller venues if that were to happen because the amount of money Stevie would lose playing large ones would be quite large.
