Default "Gold & Braid" Chords

I was just listening to one of those studio takes of "Gold & Braid," so I decided to write out the chords. I'm using the tonic of D just for convenience (namely mine). So if you want to play along with the CD, you may need to transpose.

(D) (G/D) (D) (G/D)
Though (D) deep-set and somewhat (G/D) shadowed
Her (D) life, her (G/D) mystery
Well it's not so (Em) different than the (G) way that he (A) said
"So don't (D) hide your eyes from me that (G) way, (A) baby" (D)

(D) In his heart he (G/D) wishes her stardom
(D) His eyes want for her much (G/D) more
That's not so (Em) different
Than the (G) way that he (A) said
"There are (D) so very few stars left" (G) (A) (D)

CHORUS
Don't (D) hide (A) behind your (G) hair
It's a (D) bit of (A) gold and (G) braid
(D) Easy (A) come the (G) tears
You see a (G) path(A)way (D) ending with a (D) door(A)way (G)
You (D) slip (A) toward the (G) doorway
Been (D) waiting (A) there (G) all day
(G) All (A) these (D) years

(D) (G/D) (D) (G/D)
Repeat 2nd verse & chorus

(Em) Don't hide it (F#m) (G) (A)
In his (Em) heart, he (F#m) wishes to forget her
Like to (G) make her better
And to (A7) hold her like a child

Instrumental (use verse chord progression followed by chorus chord progression)

Repeat 2nd verse & chorus

(D) Don't (A) hide your (G) eyes that way
(D) Don't (A) hide (G) anything not (D) anymore (A) (G)
(G) (A) (D)
Because I (D) never (A) did not (G) love you
I (D) never (A) did run (G) from you
(D) In a (A) dream I (G) said to you
That I'd (G) always (A) love (D) you
