Exclamation Mick on American Bandstand Anny Show

At the end of the American Bandstand 50th Anniversary Special last night on ABC, they had a jam with a bunch of assorted musicians they called a "supergroup" (VERY assorted ). Mick was one of two drummers in the group that performed a couple of Little Richard songs. There was a glimpse of Mick's wife when each musician came out of the audience to the stage. It was almost impossible to see him once he was on stage since the drum sets were at the back behind all the other players.

An example of how varied this group was: The Bangles, Sheena E, Jerry Springer (guitar), the horn section of Chicago, Michael McKean ("David St. Hubbins" from Spinal Tap), the Pointer Sisters, Clarence Clemons, Little Richard, and more.

I was surprised to see Mick since I don't think FM was ever on American Bandstand. Clark said a lot of artists wouldn't perform on American Bandstand (like Elvis) because they got paid so little.

BTW - Cher performed and she looked great!

Hi, Barb. I'm trying to remember whether the Fleetwood Macathons ever played American Bandstand -- I don't think so. But Christine played in 1984. She & husband & band played one of those hits from her record ... "Love Will Teach Us How" or something. Not particularly galvanizing, but nothing on that album really was.

I liked the Bandstand in the early 1970s when all those hot funk & R&B groups played ... Dazz Band, Ohio Players, Earth Wind & Fire, &c.
