Well, that made me smile but, seriously loving was often painful and burdensome for these guys. Have a frivolous affair with your lighting guy and don’t have to think about anything heavy. No responsibility. That is how to have fun.

But they made this song fun live, because Lindsey was really into his guitar part.

For The Classic shows, Lindsey knocks his part out of this world at the end of the song.

I saw 6 shows on OWTS but for some reason I remember standing on the field at Citi just hearing him buzz away; it was something.
Sara was also magnificent at The Classic.

On reflection I'm quite surprised Big Love isn't in the top 10. For starters its a killer song, with a great video that charted highly in numerous countries. But also, the live version took on a life of its own, to the extent its virtually a different song. I'd have though loads of people would have played the live version, especially. Its been played to death to the extent we're a bit bored of it now...but lets face it, for a long while it was one of the big highlights of the show.
It is simply the studio version, how many times it has been played on Spotify. The Live versions would come up separately, but one can only see the Top 10 for each artists. I assume Landslide, Silver Springs and Big Love from The Dance would be quite high up though. I much prefer TD version of Landslide myself.

This speaks to her personal concerns. But as for a broader archetype for the public to resonate to, it doesn't work. "Loving" is not a natural lemon that needs turning into lemonade. Saying "you make loving fun" is like saying "you make inheriting ten million dollars a good thing." It's a structural flaw. (I still like the song. I'm just pointing out what's wrong with it vis-a-vis their other material of the period.)

I couldn't disagree more. She's singing about what a miracle it is to have such a care free love. And, FM has mostly been about their personal concerns. I can't think of any other band that isn't more about their personal concerns. I'm guessing most people know that love can be very difficult and far from easy, (especially in a rock band). I understand what you mean about taking it out of context, but why do that?

This song is my fav off the album and still seems to resonate with radio stations across the country. I hear it often.

I take your point. Maybe I'm being too literal. "You make being in a relationship fun" doesn't have the same ring to it.

Maybe it should be You Make Getting Tusk'ed fun?

Now you're moving me back to my earlier POV.

It resonates with me. I love my wife dearly...its not always a bundle of laughs though.
Don't tell her I said that.

Not really. I think loving being NOT fun was Heathcliff and Catherine’s problem too.
