Have you ever seen this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtmW2ek7WkQ

Peter Green bought a Fender Stratocaster during his first visit to the US, as did Jeremy Spencer. This is was filmed 8/68, after FM's first visit to the states two months prior.

Peter Green is playing a three selector switch Strat with no knob and one that's not from Fender. That's as second hand as they come!

I've just had a big splurge on the 1970-1974 Fleetwood Mac albums. I'd only ever heard the tracks that were featured on The Chain box set and never really looked into much more than that until recently. I must say that there's some absolute corkers and I'm a little ashamed that it's taken me so long to find out about them. "Mystery to Me" is fast becoming one of my favourite Fleetwood Mac albums. "Dust" from "Bare Trees" is a track in paticular that I'm really digging at the moment.

This is such an awesome setlist and I know all of you are aware of it. I posted because we have been speculating what somgs the band might perform this year and I thought this was such a great setlist from the past.

Default Elton John covers Oh Well

2Cellos Cover AC/DC With Steve Vai And Fleetwood Mac With Elton John
by PAUL CASHMERE on JANUARY 4, 2013

2Cellos second album ‘In2ition’ features an all-star line-up of guests including their mentor Elton John on two tracks and Steve Vai helping them cover AC/DC.

“We’re extremely happy to have collaborated with such great guest artists and we believe that this is just the beginning. We’ve practiced all our lives, and in this project we’ve succeeded in extending the possibilities of the cello and bringing it to a wider audience,” say the 2Cellos.

Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser (aka 2Cellos) recorded ‘In2ition’ with the legendary producer Bob Ezrin.

Elton features on a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Oh Well’ and remakes his classic ‘Candle In The Wind’ with 2Cellos. Steve Via is on guitar for AC/DC’s ‘Highway To Hell’.

2Cellos have been touring the world opening for Elton for the past few years and then feature in his band. “Elton suggested that we cover ‘Oh Well’ because he thought it would be perfect for the cello. We said we’d do it if he sang on it and he agreed!” says Stjepan. “It’s a fairly unknown Fleetwood Mac song and Elton’s voice sounds amazing on the track.”

The album also features songs from Coldplay, Muse, The Police and The Prodigy.

1. Oh, Well (feat. Elton John)
2. We Found Love
3. Highway to Hell (feat. Steve Vai)
4. Every Breath You Take
5. Supermassive Black Hole (feat. Naya Rivera)
6. Technical Difficulties
7. Clocks (feat. Lang Lang)
8. Bang Bang (feat. Sky Ferreira)
9. Voodoo People
10. Candle in the Wind
11. Orient Express
12. Il Libro Dell ‘Amore (feat. Zucchero)
13. Benedictus

[The Guardian, excerpt from an article about rock bands and politicians]

July 10, 2013, The Guardian by Ray Jones

http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/20...ns-politicians

It started in the late 1960s. I doubt if many of us could claim to have been at Woodstock, but a few might have been at the first Isle of Wight, and I was at the grandparent of Glastonbury at Shepton Mallet when Led Zeppelin headlined. I even got a job as front-of-stage security at the Bath festival in 1970 – where Fleetwood Mac stole the show.

The only problem is Fleetwood Mac didn't play that festival. Peter Green played with John Mayall, but it was in June, 1970, and Pete was officially out of the band by then.

Billboard by Maureen Clark, April 14, 2014

http://www.billboard.com/articles/ne...-song-premiere

[Excerpt From an article discussing John Mayall's new album]

"I finally got ahold of some tapes that were made in the '60s of the lineup when Peter Green, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood were in the band," Mayall says. "I'll give those a listen, so that'll probably be the next one on Private Stash. That's a rare slice of history, just remarkable. That band was on fire. It's a wonderful piece of history."
