Default Lori?

What has been up with Lori? I haven't heard any news at all about her the last few years. She doesn't tour anymore, I guess the last I heard from her was her backing vocals on 24K album. Was she on Show them the way?

I think she retired to be a grandmother.

Does she have any spare grandkids running around to give to Stevie to do the same?

The only way Stevie retires is of people stop paying to see her concerts.

Would you really want her raising your kids? Self absorbed, and just think of the chiffon cost! And Frankenbocks cost!

Yeah ..I don't quite get that one anymore either . With the flat nasal bellowing and very geriatric spins someone would have to pay me to go and sit through it.

What made me think of Lori was when Christine passed and Stevie wrote that Chris was her best friend. She also said recently that John was her best friend when he showed up at one of her shows. But in reality, I would say Karen is probably her real best friend and then after that, probably Lori, because of her being her friend, back up singer and former sister in law oh, and also the mother of her neice. But I hadn't heard much about Lori for so long, I wondered what happened to her and if her and Stevie even still talk or see each other much.

What happened in 1950? Did someone drop her on her head when she was 2 ?

Mary is one of her very best friends and has been forever. Even before Lori.

Lori is also family but she's also an employee, and in recent years whenever Stevie mentions her it's "my sister in law" and then whatever errand she's tasked Lori with, e.g., digging stuff out of her storage unit in Phoenix, organizing her old demo tapes and cataloging what's on them, etc.....

I forgot about Mary, but she lives in Michigan. So I think when the tour is over, she doesn't speak or see Mary very often. Of course I could be wrong.

I dunno.... I think she and Mary were always close, and talked, but it seems like she pops up more nowadays in pics of Stevie and her entourage in different places. For example, Mary was def part of the group of friends she went traveling around the world with in the past 15 or so yrs, seeing all the sites she never saw when she was touring doing shows, e.g., Italy (where she got inspired to write Italian Summer). I'm guessing that's probably because Mary's kids(s) are grown, she's more available to do 'girl friend" stuff again.. I think a lot of Stevie's circle got married and had families and that doesn't lend itself to partying and jumping on a jet at the drop of a hat or helping Stevie move her bed into the closet at 3 am on a coke binge and all that sort of stuff....so her circle has to change over time to have friends who are as free spirited and unencumbered as Stevie is. (My mind also flashes to that scene in the DR doc when they are rehearsing for the tour and Stevie wants to keep going all night and get through the whole set and Lindsey, who had a wife and young kids was like "nope, I gotta be outta here at x time" because of his family obligations).

It's like Sharon lived in her house and was the person Stevie could wake up at 2 am to help her record a demo but eventually Sharon needed to be a grown up with her own place and her own significant other and all that. Lori married and became a mom and stopped touring, which Stevie at times was a bit judge-y about. Stevie needs a circle around her that puts her at the center of everything, and people can't do that once they have their own lives. Poor Karen.
