Right after Lindsey it was always Christine's songs I looked forward to hearing the most whenever a new album came out. This is not to diss Stevie, but it's just the way I feel. So yes Chris's contributions will be missed but I still look forward to the new Mac album very much. And besides, if she does come out with a new solo album we can all just pick our faves from it and burn them onto a Cd along with the SYW tracks and it will almost be like she never left in the first place!

I will definitely miss Christine. Her earthy, graceful presence always provided an important counterweight to B/N ' s onstage personalities and songs. There were moments on "The Dance" tour where I sensed she was really bored, but she may have bigger fish to fry. I'd be over touring too. You couldn't get me to live for 4 months on planes and in hotels for any amount of money. More power to her for opting out.

Unhappy Sigh....

I'm gonna miss her too because I've never seen the five Fireflies in concert. I'm listening to Little Lies right now and it makes me miss her more. Even tho I love Lindsey and Stevie to DEATH, I love Miss Christine too and would have just LOVED to have seen/heard her on this tour. I hope her solo album comes out and also that she is happy.

Yeah, I'll miss her, but whaddayagannado?

You know, as long as I live, I will never understand the need by some people to bash one member of Fleetwood Mac in order to praise another.
The coolest, most interesting thing about this band, to me at least, is how wildly different each member is... from Peter Green up to Bekka Bramlett.
In my opinion, there truly is something for everyone.

Have I always been head over heels for each and every member this band has had? No, i haven't... but I'm sure not gonna go on and on about how "awful" they are.

They aren't my cup of tea, but I'm sure they're someone else's.
Not only do I accept and respect that, but I also LOVE that.
This life would be boring beyond belief if we all liked the same things, and believed in the same things, and acted the same way, etc., etc.

We're not on the schoolyard any more... we don't have to play "my toy is cooler than your toy."
It's called diversity, people.

As for Christine's absence from the new album... of course, I'll miss her. She was just as important to what makes Fleetwood Mac, Fleetwood Mac, as anyone else who's ever passed thru their ranks.
Her level-headed songs always provided the perfect balance to Lindsey & Stevie's eccentricities.

At the same time, I couldn't be more excited for this album, because it's "another link the chain" (if you'll forgive the cliché), and I'm excited to hear what Buckingham & Nicks can do, thirty years after their first album together.

Because I love Stevie & I don't skip her tours.

I think it's much better to do what I do: bash every one of the sixteen members from time to time, & gush about every one of the sixteen members from time to time!

Default well..

i'll miss Chistine, also, but from what I've heard of the new record.. I think the Stevie Lindsey magic is still there. "Peacekeeper" gets better every time I listen to it..
the sweetness of their harmony.

when I finally get "Say You Will" in my hands.. I'll play it non stop.. constantly.. ..it's going to be the perfect cd to listen to on our walkmans as we walk in the spring air..

after the newness wears a little, I'll start playing with the CD. I'm sure I'll burn a CD with just the Stevie tracks - like a new solo Stevie record. and maybe, when Chris' record comes out - i'll add some of her new songs with some of the "Say You Will" tracks and make my own - what could have been.. FM "Rumours lineup" record. who knows.. i'm just starting to get really excited about the upcoming record and tour..

Default Chris

I will miss Chris a lot. I try hard not to think too much about it. However, it's going to be neat to see how Buckingham and Nicks sound together 30 years after thir original album. It's going to be interesting to see the stage too-I'm so used to Chris being there it's gonna seem mighty empty without her.

On the radio the other day they mentioned that Christine WAS on this album - is that true? Anyone know?

Just curious and found that interesting as I had never heard it.

I wonder on the tour if they will do her songs though? I kind of feel they should - I think YMLF and others are just standards for FM.

I love the whole band and will miss Christine, but I am thrilled to have new Mac stuff - any way I can get it! I think the album will be wonderful and just the other day when I heard "Peacekeeper" on the radio for the 2nd time that day (woo hoo) it really made me smile and reminded me back to 1997 when Silver Springs was all over the radio and how much I love FM and how good their music makes me feel.

Exclamation CM on SYW

I think she technically does play on the album because she was on the recording of "Steal your heart away" from the "Best buy tour '97" promo CD a few years ago and I'm assuming that this is the recording of the song that will be on SYW so they'll probably just have it listed as a "guest appearance" on her part in the liner notes of SYW and who knows, maybe some of the other keyboard parts on the other songs may date back as far as this track too but I'm not sure and I'd be surprised if there were other "old tracks" like this on the album since Sheryl Crow is reportedly playing keyboards on two tracks on the album as well. It'll be interesting to see though.

Hope this was of some help.

John
