Bermuda Triangle Live
I love this song live it really grooves. The McVies seemed to work a little harder with Bob Welch at the helm. No?

I love Welch's "story" in the middle. (likewise with the live "Future Games", too)
It is like a couple of other FMac tunes ("Not That Funny" in particular) where the live version almost seems like a completely different song than the studio track. Christine's intro piano part is just SOOOOO cool.

Yeah her solo is lost in the mix, so I adjusted my stereo and she is absolutely jamming. I used to have an old video from a TV program with McVie jamming with Welch, and she had a B3 Hammond and was playing the pedal parts. Something she didn't do as much in Post Welch. I believe this is a combination of her role changing with 2 other singers and LB being more of a ham than BWelch ever was. I guess when you are as good as LB you should be a ham.
I will say however, BWelch really shines as a lead guitarist on this CD. |

Does anyone own the rights to Bermuda Triangle or would Reprise or another record company be able to obtain the rights to officially release it? It's understood that we are long overdue in getting a live cd from the 1971-1974 period. Can anyone compare the sound/track selection of Bermuda Triangle to that of Would The Real Fleetwood Mac Please Step Forward?

I LOVE both of the Heroes boots that have circulated. I think Christine & Bob worked perfectly together, every bit as good as Chris & Lindsey together, in some cases even better. It's interesting that there was another keyboard player on both boots. Chris played electric piano & grand piano while the other keyboard player played organ & synthesizer. Unfortunately, the piano sort of disappeared from Fleetwood Mac somewhat later on, too much synthesizer, in my opinion. But there's lots of piano on the Sausalito & Hempstead boots, which I love.
I'm not sure if anyone owns the rights to "Bermuda Triangle". I thought both of the Heroes boots had originated in Japan. |

The "Bermuda Triangle" CD is taken from the exact same performances (from the Record Plant Sausalito) as the 2-LP set "WTRFMPSU", however, the CD omits "Black Magic Woman", "Oh Well", "Believe Me", "Cliff Davis Blooze" (which is the introduction of the band over a blues vamp), and "Rattlesnake Shake". The additional keyboardist on the set is Bobby Hunt, an old "Seven Souls" bandmate of Bob Welch's.

Ok, does anyone know if the version called WTRFMPSF is also circulating on boot cd? Since it was a double LP does it fit on a single cd like Tusk did? Has anyone ever heard of any live concert recordings that exist but not released from the Heroes tour. I guess what I'm trying to say, does anyone think Reprise has any live recordings from MTM or HAHTF that could possibly be released some time? I'm looking forward to that day! Anyone else?

Yeah Bobby Hunt was also in Head West as well, Welch musta really liked him.
Remember in the 1995 UK BBC 2 TV FM doc "Rock family trees" where Welch speaks of the bogus band situation and "remembering doing a promotional in house video for Warners where they said... HI! I'm Bob Welch and this is the REAL FM, will the real FM please stand up"? I had often wondered if this video is the source for the audio that ended up on that WTRFMPSU bootleg? Just a thought, I just wish I was the guy that had the copy of the video that SOMEONE must've had to dub it to vinyl etc. (if this was the case that is of course). John |
