50 Years - Don't Stop - varations
The album has just dropped on streaming services in the UK and whether here or worldwide I don't know but there are ten tracks missing from the original list and ten in their place.
For starters everything from pre-Warners has gone so that's the first five of the originally billed disc one. Also gone are Station Man, Emerald Eyes, Monday Morning, Second Hand News and Fireflies (was looking forward to that single version). In their place we have (in chronological order) Jewel Eyed Judy Remember Me For Your Love Warm Ways Not That Funny Family Man Isn't it Midnight No Questions Asked Love is Dangerous Skies the Limit Looks like they've really gone to town on making it a singles collection though Dragonfly's omission is inexcusable by that standard and same with Fireflies and ITBOMM. Also the promised live versions of Never Going Back Again and Silver Springs have been replaced by the studio originals. Ah well, time to hit play on the single versions.

I wish Mick would just say definitively that the group does not exist anymore. Then we can edit Wikipedia and get rid of all this crap about the surviving members of the 2018-19 lineup comprising a current configuration. Thanks to Mick and all erstwhile members for the good times. |

Are these new tracks at least remastered like the others?

Yes they are. They sound incredible and I've posted links to them on YouTube in the Present Band froum.

Maybe they changed the track list for the streaming version, but the cd and LP versions have the tracklist as originally announced. Which is a relief because I mostly wanted "Fireflies" and I also never ever want to hear "Not That Funny" again! ;-)

Has Dragonfly ever been remastered on anything?

The streaming version has odd choices and inexplicable sequencing.
Love Is Dangerous? Love Shines? Weird. |

How is the remastering?

The remastering is quite amazing... esp on the old pre-BN Christine songs... and even on tunes like Save Me, Skies the Limit and No Questions Asked. hearing lots of new things!

Is there anything interesting in the sleeve notes? Like an apology for there not being a new track and not calling the album "45 years- have stopped"
Silly old me.

I like the Tusk version but not the live version that sounds like he is being electrocuted at various moments in the song.

Great, awesome! And the volume is not too quiet? For some reason my copy of The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac has quite a high volume, which is good, because for example the Tango in the Night remaster is lower volume. And when I randomly play Tango songs with current pop songs, it's suddenly too quiet to hear it properly without changing volume.

What's the logic behind the order of the real CDs? Is it completely chronological? Doesn't seem that way...? |
