Default Go Your Own Way Appreciation Thread

Okay, so they just played this song on the radio. I always blast this song from the speakers. I cannot listen to this song without dancing. I mean jumping up and down playing air guitar, imagining I'm at a concert. Picturing Lindsey singing this song to Stevie with such anger (for lack of a better word) back in the 70's. I think this song is one of, if not, the best Fleetwood Mac song ever. Just because everything it represents and it's just such a rocken song. It's the song that the radio stations always play, because "it" is Fleetwood Mac.

I know this has probably been discussed to death, but too bad

Great song and I even love it live. I even liked Lindsey's Soundstage version. Lindsey could do a few more rocking songs IMHO.

I think so, too. Lindsey could have recorded lot of great rock songs. I don't think it's the best mac song (there is no one best), but it is so cool.. Hey! right now I'm listening it!!!

I don't know you but I found it very.. Californian. When I was last september visiting several places (LA, SD, Santa Barbara, Solvang), I love to play that song very loud on the freeway (specially when there was no traffic ha haaa

Even though there are other FM songs (especially from the Rumors era) that I like just as well, I believe GYOW is one of their best songs and not just because it was (and still is) so successful. My reasons why:
1) I can't for the life of me remember when I first heard it. It seems like I have always known that song. And it makes me feel good every time I hear it.

2) It is one of the songs that every single time I hear them make me think: "one must be a very inspired musician to write such a simple yet perfect song". GYOW is one of the few examples that show that great songs don't need to have complicated lyrics or over-sophisticated sound or whatever. It is pure simplicity. To be it differently: IMO it is a song that had to be written

3) I just love the way it starts "loving you..." and Stevie's "packing up-shacking up" singing along at the live versions !!!

That's all from me!

Always good to know You'll love LB's soundstage, some of the songs he did were very good (not to say beautiful).

I never tire of the album version of GYOW. It will always be one of my favorites.

However, I am becoming bored with the live versions of late. Lindsey's soundstage version was pretty blah to me.
