20 Albums to Look Forward to in 2012, FM#20
[Fleetwood Mac was named #20 in this list of 20 albums expected in 2012. Of course, we've all gotten our hopes up before]
http://www.theatlantic.com/entertain...50625/#slide20 Fleetwood Mac Title TBA Release date TBA Here's another potential album release that may just be the product of rumours (get it?!). Stevie Nicks has joined back up with Lindsey Buckingham and co. to supposedly record the follow-up to 2003's Say You Will. About time, given all the new-millennium indie-rock acts who have swiped Fleetwood Mac's sound. |

I think we can pretty safely file this under the false rumors category, because Stevie has made it painfully clear she's out promoting her latest solo album for the long haul (even though it's long dead in it's tracks). I can't see her agreeing to do anything with Fleetwood Mac until at least late summer/early fall... and then it'd probably only be touring. She seems to have lost all desire to record with the band.

Do not count on a Mac record. I'll be very surpursed if we do get one. Lindsey......Couple years or more. Just IMO.

Doesn't seem like it's been that long when there are other things that happened in 2003 that seem like forever ago. I guess all the new material by Lindsey is satisfying me because in 2003 I wouldn't have bet a nickel that he would have released another solo album.

BBC News Looks Ahead to 2012
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-16001507 There are also unconfirmed rumours of live shows from Fleetwood Mac, and The Rolling Stones - who'll be celebrating their 50th birthday in 2012. |

I make a prediction...
Lindsey won't have any hair left by the time Fleetwood Mac makes a new record.

that's actually a pretty safe bet. at the rate it's been going within the last year, his hairline will look like Mick's within next 2 years

stevie and Lindsey need to just leave Fleetwood Mac and be fully committed to their solo work for the rest of their 60's. This half assing Fleetwood Mac thing is annoying. Lindsey can big machine-small machine it all he wants. And Stevie can be all "Oh its great to take a break because it makes coming back that much better" but enough. stop the guessing and just do solo stuff. Mick and John can find others or join other bands.

I'm loving that YMLF was the recommended pick of the lot!

Isn't that exactly what they've been doing for the last 9 years? I believe that we will get another Fleetwood Mac album. I want to to see Buckingham and Nicks record together again, with John and Mick...even if they don't tour behind it.

Either these people use all this "I'm in, I'm out" business to drum up audience interest in Fleetwood Mac (I don't even see how that works anymore), or they're all genuinely ambivalent about working together. My advice: If, after forty years, you still aren't sure whether you like a particular job or not, seek out the best shrink you can find. There's obviously a blockage involved.

I still think that's what it is. Except you really hear both Stevie & Lindsey spouting about riding FM now. Stevie's all: "you never quit your band" and Lindsey is all: "the big machine funds the small machine". Lindsey always says now that FM is never "broken up", they just take a lot of "breaks".
