Sorry, John, wrong link. I don't know what the extra tracks will be.

Wasn't this a flop the first time around?

"flop"? I don't think it was designed to challenge the Eagles Greatest Hits Vol 1 for "best selling compilation album of all time" to begin with. It was released on a small label with limited distribution. I think other than here on the Penguin & a couple of other Fleetwood Mac related sites (as well as Bob's own) were the only marketing the album got. That it is being re-released says something about the demand for an out of print album.

Put it this way I think it was this one (or maybe it was part one) that when I tried to buy a copy you couldn't and even Bob himself told me he didn't have a copy.

Thanks Michele.

Yeah it was this one that went out of print pretty much right after it was released. This is why I've learned to order stuff right away otherwise...

It's not that I'm not happy for Bob that he's getting stuff re-released, but these two Fleetwood Mac and beyond albums certainly seem to get repackaged a bit. What makes the record company think it is going to sell this time around with a new cover and with a few extra tracks?

What's with the negativity...that the damned album is AVAILABLE should be enough. The two or three people who've been trying to get this album will finally have the chance again. Let's hope they take advantage of the opportunity.

Like I said, it's not going to threaten the Eagles Greatest Hits saleswise.

Lower your damned expectations!

Well I will buy it if there is anything on there we don't already have. Hopefully the "extended:" bit isn't Bob doing another version of one of his great songs from days gone by. I realise you might get around a few record company restrictions by re-recording them, but I dispute Bob's assertion that his voice is better now than in the early seventies.

It's my understanding that this not a repackage but another volume of re-recorded songs. By no means are these kind of projects intended to make the charts. But they serve a particular niche. Alot of music is released with reasonably limited expectations. Surprisingly, sometimes its more about the music/history, and not all about sales.

I do find it kind of odd that Bob is rehashing the past, and recording songs from an era of the band beyond his time. Does the world really need a Bob Welsh version of Rhiannon? I'll buy it only for the curiousity factor.

Exclamation

Got it today, bonus tracks are just Big Towne 2061/Black Book, Outskirts & Ebony Eyes from the Roxy gig, so basically, nothing new.

Well it is a repackage of an album that was released a few years back that contained re-recorded songs.

No believe me after you hear this version of Rhiannon the world doesn't need it.

The reason to buy this album (if you didn't buy it five years ago) is the song "Ray".
