Default Omg, Is this really Stevie?

I was looking at Burnish.net and I saw this photo. Click on the link....

Is this really her? She looks so much better now even though she was younger then, during Behind the Mask...

Is your question literal? Yes, that's Stevie.

A bad hair day, to say the very least.

That's from the Japanese program, 'Sound Gig,' where Fleetwood Mac was interviewed (by the Japanese-speaking hosts, via an interpreter), and lip-synched performances of "Save Me," "Freedom," "In The Back Of My Mind," and "Stand On The Rock."

I've always thought Stevie looked pretty great in that video, especially considering the era.
That screen-cap doesn't do her justice though.

The link won't work for me, but I never cared for her look in the Mask days. Especially the dulled expression on her face in those photos, and we now know why she looked like that.
BTW, Johnny, I know you said that she lip-synched Freedom, but are there any live versions of it where she really sings? It's my favorite on the album.

Jake... try typing (or pasting) the address. You should be able to view it that way (at least that's what worked for me).

Unfortunately... to the best of my knowledge... they never performed "Freedom" live.

It's my favorite on the album, too.

I don't think the pic is that bad compared to others from the period. I hate the group one from Mick's book & the tour book with Stevie sitting. In many of the photos her hair is the frizzed out yellow of which Muppets are made. No wonder she wore so many hats back then, particularly the one that made her look like she was once married to Tenille.

She is just singing and may be a
little spacey...so were many others
on that stage! She is very theatrical!
Can you imagine trying to look good
night after night on stage? Skylark

Here's Stevie Nicks "in her own words" speaking of those times:

Nicks says the last time she used cocaine on stage was during a concert at Red Rocks in 1986. It was a turning point for her. Afterwards, she went straight to the Betty Ford Clinic. But in attempting to help herself, she encountered a problem far worse than her cocaine problem -- a new addiction to prescription drugs. Fresh out a rehab, a psychiatrist put Stevie on a tranquilizer called klonopin. Generally prescribed for seizures and panic attacks, experts say it should not be taken for more than nine weeks. Stevie says she took it for eight years, learning way too late that klonopin is highly addictive and can have side effects like depression and weight gain. "My woman's vanity could not deal with that at all. After being a rock 'n' roll sex symbol for all that time, and then all of a sudden to be 'little fat girl' was just so unacceptable to me. I could see the disappointment in people's faces when they'd see me walk in." It took 47 days for the singer to detox from the prescription drug, "...and it was horrible," she says. "My hair turned gray. My skin molted. I couldn't sleep, I was in so much pain. Legs aching, muscle cramps.... The rock star in me wanted to get in a limousine and go to Cedar's Sinai and say, 'Give me some demerol because I am in pain.' And the other side of me said, 'You will fight out this 47 days.'"
