Ok, thanks. So we already know the Conan date. We're just waiting on Extra and Martin Bashir.

Interview
Some pretty interesting questions, but LB spewed out the usual answers (even though the answer had little to do with the original question). The only poignant moment was at the end of the interview when LB said something about karma and looked up and apologized to his mother and father.

Politician
Politician is a good analogy (I realize this has been discussed in other threads). I think LB firmly believes everything he espouses. He is just too rehearsed that it loses a sense of sincerity. There is very little spontaneity in his answers. Maybe he should listen to his own lyrics regarding his supposed disdain for publicists, because he sounds like he has been coached by one.

What I always get a *tad* annoyed with when I hear LB interviews (and I won't get into the redundancy because that's a given) is the fact that sometimes a very simple response is all it takes, and yet he discards this theory and goes off on a 3 1/2 minute discussion with all his highfalutin phrases/idioms/analogies...
by the time we get to the next question I am spent. I just pretty much fast-forward through until we get to a song these days...it's gotten that bad for me. However, on rare occasions he is actually quite charming when he wants to be. And cute. Like that one article someone posted here recently- where the person knew all kinds of LB stuff really well. That is my fave of all his recent interviews I think. Still, I of course want to watch them all despite my griping.

yes, the line about everything coming around and his kids giving him hard time so now he understands/apologizes to his parents for hard time he has given them as a kid was new one - or at least that "karmic" phrase he keeps saying became at least partially clearer - what he might actually mean by it. EDIT: oh, he said that he met his wife when he was 46, first kid when he was 48 - i think he doesn't give exact numbers usually lately (right?), just talks about starting a family late Last edited by elle; 09-05-2011 at 11:59 PM.. |
