My Turner Model 1, Lot's of photos

I was about knocked over when I opened the case. I've never seen anything with strings look this good. Words fail me, but any of you who own one of these guitars knows that feeling when you first gaze upon this instrument.

This is the Bently of electric guitars and I doubt there is another luthier on the planet that can match this craftsmanship or playability or sound in an electric guitar.

This guitar is exactly what I wanted in a Model 1. Right down to the finish and figuring of the wood. Hope you enjoy the photos.

Actually, I 'forgot' it. I was rather disappointed when I saw this omission, but I remembered having the conversation where I dropped this option in favor of having a Model 1 more in line with what LB plays.

Still sounds awesome!

AWESOME! Welcome to the "Turner Model 1 Owners Club". My suggestion, though, now that you have it. Go ahead and take the time to get the "Lindsey" out of your system and then concentrate on YOUR OWN creativity using the Model 1. THAT's when you'll REALLY gain appreciation for what that guitar can do.

Do any of the guitarists here play without a pick? I thought I was the only one, if not one of the few.

Been pick-less for all of my guitar days... My story is nearly identical to Lindsey's which is kinda cool and it totally reenforces my faith in cycles. Unfortunatly I am not only pick-less but Model 1-less as well.

I gave up the pick about 18 months ago. I have found that I have much more control over which strings I'm playing by using my fingers.

While I used a pick I would get lost many times and be a string up or down from where I was supposed to be. Having your fingers right on the strings for the most part eliminates much of this problem for me.

I will take your advice. Like most who own this guitar, chasing that Lindsey tone is the first thing people probably do with it after receiving it. I'm no different in that regard. Dreams was probably the easiest to nail and I'm still working on several others.

The harder part will be trying to remember all of the knob positions for the different tunes.

My stepsons play guitar and someone convinced them to start playing pickless (that someone might have been me!)

It depends what I'm playing. I'll tend to use a pick if it's for a strummy sort of song (unless it's out of reach and I'm too lazy to get off my ass). I'll play a lot of lead stuff with no pick to get a certain style and with one if I want a different style. I can play much more intricately without a pick though.

I played without a pick for about 10 years or so, but
the last couple years I've reintroduced myself to the
pick. Some songs just don't sound right fingerpicked.
So why not have the best of both worlds? That said,
I fingerpicked my way through "THE DANCE" this evening.
