You are not alone by any means. The TISL outtake is FAR superior to the IYD version. I prefer the structure of the song and the more "full" verses. The IYD versions sounds far too hacked together and rushed.

Joining you both. I much prefer the TISL version of My Heart.

The first version just sounds better and paints a better picture, I think. And I much prefer Stevie harmonizing with herself. Plus there's that added bridge, "mmm, but that's my dream, or so it seems" that pretty much puts the capper on what the song is actually about, whereas the other version doesn't.
But cannot agree on this. The bridge part you mention is good, but overall the acetate version of the song is lacking oomph, in my opinion. It wanders a bit aimlessly, and just peters out without having really made any imapct.

I LOVE this. I wish we had a good quality mp3 version of it.

I was never aware those songs were mixed for Timespace! Were there other songs remixed for Timespace that didn't make it on the album. I wonder if the album was originally going to be a double disc. Are those mixes available for download anywhere?

Thank you! I must say, the customer service on The Ledge is exceptional and expedient. Five stars for sure.

For me, this is one of the most beautiful and sad things I have ever heard, even if I've listened to it like 900 times in the past 6 years

Smile at You - obviously
Oh Daddy with Christine and Stevie - completely elevates the song from snooze to wow
My Heart - Also prefer the TISL version
Running Through The Garden - The SYW version kicks ass, but the 80s demo is so... 80s and fabulous.
If You Ever Did Believe - Love the version with Sheryl Crow, but the original has THAT voice, so it wins by default.

My Heart is like Smile At You. The original versions are great but there was something that just didn't work. Her vocals on My Heart didn't quite work. Dave changed the song to fit her voice and it sounds perfect for her. Smile At You was terrific but it meandered and sort of went nowhere. Lindsey tightened it up so it worked as a single. Her voice was stellar on it. They were looking out for her best interest.

I completely agree about My Heart. The TISL version meanders - that is a good word for it. The IYD version is superior and I wished it had been on the regular version of the album and could have been a single imho

There is not a bad version of these two song in my opinion. So I guess everybody is right.

The single remixes of "Blue Denim" and "Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind" are FAR better than the album versions.

The extended rock remix of "I Can't Wait"

The alternate, extended version of "Long Way To Go"

The full verison of "Planets of the Universe"
