Hotels in Minneapolis

Does anyone know why the hotels in Minneapolis are so damn expensive? I have been trying for a while to get a room for two nights Sept 29- Oct 1 (Check out Oct 1) and yet most rooms are 200-400+ a night. Is there something about Minneapolis that makes it more expensive then other cities. I have found cheaper hotels in NYC right downtown.

Not too sure why they are so expensive, but have you looked for a Bed and Breakfast? We did that for a Fleetwood Mac concert in 2009, and stayed at an amazing big, old, gorgeous house in downtown that was close to the Target Centre. My husband is really into booking BandB's, and it works great. If you want, I could see if he still has the name of the place we stayed? Just let me know.
