Hi y'all. Kevin here. This is my first post. I Googled Mac's 2009 tour and found this thread/forum/website, so here I am. My dream set list (quite different from what I'd say they will actually play) is...
Blue Letter Angel Second Hand News Twisted Straight Back Tango In the Night Smile At You acoustic set Save Me a Place That's Alright Walk a Thin Line I Don't Want to Know Storms Big Love (full band) Sara Welcome to the Room...Sara Bleed to Love Her I Know I'm Not Wrong Beautiful Child Peacekeeper encores Fireflies the Ledge Sisters of the Moon Monday Morning Gypsy Of course, Christine will show up at the West Coast shows, and they'll decide not to cut any of the aforementioned songs but just add... Think About Me Sugar Daddy Say You Love Me One More Night Love in Store Hold Me Honey Hi Over My Head and, of course, the ever lovely Songbird. As you can tell, I won't be holding my breath. If they play even a few obscure live songs, I'll be happy. Kevin |

Hi all, another first-time poster here (been lurking a while, though). I think you'll see this tour talk bringing quite a few of us out of the woodwork.
Does "Greatest Hits" mean FM hits only? The reason I ask -- I saw a youtube video of a 1981 concert with Stevie singing "Leather and Lace" -- Sharon and Lori came out of the shadows for once, and they sang it with the three of them grouped close at one mike. It was very softly accompanied, and their harmony was gorgeous, IMO. I think it would be lovely to see those two girls come up front for that one number, at least. Stevie's voice may have lost a bit of power, but one song I think she could handle quite nicely is "Seven Wonders." I don't know how well she can handle "Rhiannon" these days, but still, in my fantasy setlist, I'd love to see them open the show with that. Not the long melodramatic piano thing, just start right in with the guitar, thank you. |

And put the guitar riff back into Rhiannon. It wasn't there for the SYW tour.

New to the site and the forum. Been a fan of FM since I was about 7 years old or more or less the time that "Fleetwood Mac/Fleetwood Mac" aka "the white album" came out. That being said, I'm also a huge fan of the original Mac with Peter Green.
What I'd love to see, but know I never will, is Rick, Billy, and Bekka come back and have a "mini blues" set with some of the Peter Green material: Oh Well, Green Manalishi, I Loved Another Woman, Homework, Rattlesnake Shake. Possibly a couple of songs from "Behind The Mask" like "Stand On The Rock" and "When The Sun Goes Down". Bekka would be there to "fill in" for Christine (obviously she could never take Christine's place, but her voice sounds much closer to Christine's than Lindsey and Stevie trying to do certain songs. Here's my votes for the set list (in no particular order) The Chain, Dreams, Gold Dust Woman, Go Your Own Way, Don't Stop, Rhiannon, I'm So Afraid, Tusk, Say You Love Me, Blue Letter, Think About Me, Seven Wonders, Gypsy, Eyes Of The World, Peacekeeper, Bleed To Love Her, My Little Demon, Landslide, Say Your Will, Sisters Of The Moon, Sara, Come, Say Goodbye, Freedom, Twisted, Goodbye Baby, Beautiful Child, Stand Back, What's The World Coming To?, This Is The Times and World Turning. I think we can forget hearing "Tango" since the solo is basically "I'm So Afraid". Why do 2 songs with the same guitar solo? Makes no sense. Unfortunately, I don't think there will be any "pre-Lindsey/Stevie" hits played on this tour, thus my suggestion for the Rick, Billy and Bekka addition that we all know won't happen. As far as "World Turning" is concerned, let's not forget that this is "Fleetwood Mac", not "Buckingham Nicks". The band existed long before Lindsey and Stevie came along. Don't get me wrong, I love them both. Their addition to the band made it the mega-hit legendary rock band it is today, no doubt. But if they don't do "WT", where is Mick going to get his drum solo in? He's earned it. He deserves it. Let him have it. If not during "WT" then where? I'm open to suggestions. As much as I love the Mac, if there isn't any new material on this tour, I don't know if I'll be going to the show in San Jose. $47 for nose-bleed section seems a little steep. To watch a 6'6" man look like he's 1" tall for that kind of money I just don't see as a good choice. Anyway, that's my opinion. "Then Play On" |

Thanks. I just had another thought about a possible Stevie song for the set. Why not "Planets Of The Universe"? If memory serves, it was originally done for the "Rumours" album and then she did it again for "Trouble In Shangri-La". Why not bring it back home and do it on this tour? I think with the full compliment of Mick, John, Lindsey (who played the solo on the "Trouble In Shangri-La" version anyway), whomever they have for additional percussion, etc. it would be phenomenal!!
Anyone with any thoughts on this?? |

I think it could be cool, but I'd like them to do the Rumours version. |

Great setlist. I'd like to join in. My dream set list would be (in no particular order)... Sisters of the Moon (!) Thrown Down (!) Angel (!) Gypsy Blue Letter Never Going Back Again Crystal Go Your Own Way So Afraid Gold Dust Women Second Hand News Straight Back I Don't Want to Know Storms Dreams Rhiannon (the way she used to sing it in the 70's, including the guitar solo) Big Love Not That Funny Say You Will Go Insane Sara Bleed to Love Her I Know I'm Not Wrong Beautiful Child Peacekeeper The Ledge Silver Springs What's The World Coming To Family Man ...forget it, I'm starting to list the band's whole catalog, haha. I love all of the Mac's songs. However, I'd ardently love to see Sister Of The Moon, Angel, and Thrown Down all added to the setlist.
