I've heard/read several times that this was about Linda Ronstadt. The Eagles were her backing band before they hit it big (the wuote I've read is that Linda "got their chops up!") and she was also in a relationship witjh JD Souther and living with him Laurel Canyon. He dumped her for Joni Mitchell - there have been several mentions of an unfortunate incident where they both met on his doorstep as Joni was leaving one morning!

Very true. Check out several interviews, documentaries about that whole scene as well as Hotel California by Barney Hoskins to found out just how much he got around... Linda Ronstast, Joni Mitchell, Judee Sill, Bonnie Raitt, not tomention endless young girls who hung around the Troubadour. There's a story involving him, Jackson Browne and some groupies in the Troub parking lot...

"Don't Come Around Here No More" by Tom Petty. I remember reading in an interview a few years ago from Dave Stewart that it was a one night stand he and Stevie had in the 80's and Stevie told him Don't Come Around Here No More so a song was inspired.

I think the story is that the morning after Dave and Stevie were together, Joe Walsh called her up and Dave overheard her telling him on the phone to 'Don't come around here no more'. That gave him the start of a song idea that went on to become that track.

Jimmy Iovine is also in the story somewhere, though, as I think he and Stevie were still on-off at that time too?

"Evil Woman" by ELO. In heard a Jeff Lynne radio interview a few years ago and he hinted that the song was about Stevie. I think she dated him for about 5 minutes. God, I love that woman!

"The Long Run" and "Wasted Time" are about Stevie, from what I've heard. I've also heard that, "Not Enough Love in The World" is about Stevie. All Don Henley songs.
