Default Stevie still not on board for new album.

This according to Mick at a meet and greet. So Stevie only wanted Christine back to tour? She hates Lindsey that much? Well count me as someone seriously disappointed in her.

Whatever her reasons are, time is beginning to run short for these folks and their ability to work together.

And without a gimmick to promote (like Christine back for the first time in 17 years, or a new album), I don't see this band being able to keep doing the greatest hits tour circuit and selling out arenas.

I said earlier this year that hopes were going to be dashed on that new record. Could it still happen? Yes. But the longer they get away from it, the less likely it is.

It's always a great experience for her when someone else is producing the record.

This is frustrating. I was so excited to hear new music featuring all five.

who did he say this to? A Ledgie? If a Ledgie heard this, please tell us about the conversation-- what did he say exactly? What was the question he was responding to?

Would love to get more info on this…

Cannot believe she would be that obtuse at this point in their careers. Might this be a negotiating strategy by Stevie or her team??

They recorded without Chris.

They certainly "could" record with out Stevie.

This honestly does not come as a surprise to me. I wonder what her reservations are?

Is she being denied her choice of producers for her own songs? Or is she demanding the entire album be produced by her choice of producer? The latter could be tricky, given how Lindsey & Christine's songs are apparently finished.

Or is Stevie not liking what she's heard from Lindsey & Christine's sessions? Maybe she's demanding a reboot?

Perhaps she's pulling a Lindsey- demanding time for her solo career after these consecutive Mac tours?

As much as I love Stevie, I agree. Tango is one of my favorite Mac albums and I always see it as more of a Christine/Lindsey album anyway. It would be disappointing if she wasn't involved, but it can be done without her total involvement.

for sure.

but the timing would be most suspicious and lead to all sorts of rumors about why she's not recording.. I mean she's all excited to have Chris back and they do a big tour and it's a new chapter in the ongoing Mac saga and then…poof! Stevie bails.

How does that not in the press look like she refused to record with Chris? Even if she says no it's about Lindsey, come on, you did an album and umpteen tours with him after Chris left. You cried about missing Chris. Chris comes back and THEN you bail??

I don't see how she gets out of this without it backfiring on her PR-wise. I reallllly think she's holding out in order to get whatever it is that she wants, be that an outside producer or the exact producer she wants or whatever.

I'm willing to bet she's threatening not to record to get her way on something--- like how after SYW she held out the threat that she would not tour more than the original 40 dates (LB needed them to do more dates to make more money to make up for the money he would lose on the album from putting on more songs). She had whatever issues with the songs/running order/length of the album and said if you do things your way then I won't tour. They capitulated and she stayed on tour.

That's why I'd love to hear exactly what Mick said, how he phrased his comments.

Very likely. She's not getting something she's demanding, so she's withholding her participation until her requests are fulfilled. But the big question is, what are those requests? Is she worried about the oversaturation of the Mac with these back to back oldies tours? Does she want to break and promote her new solo album? Does she want time to go write some new material to bring to the band after hearing what Chris & Lindsey have come up with? Is the issue of producers looming large again?
