Default Just got The Visitor on CD - Brand new and sealed

Just bought The Visitor on CD - Brand new and sealed.

There's a seller on GEMM currently flogging them.

It's the Great Expectations re-issue. Still not entirely sure just how legit it is, but here's some info about Great Expectations from the Discogs site:

Quote:
UK label active ca. 1988-1992.
Specializing in CD re-issues of New Wave and other artists classic vinyl albums.

Contact Info:Great Expectations
56 Standard Road
London NW10 6ES
UK
A tad pricey if it's not legit - especially the postage to Aus, but still happy to have it.

Exclamation

Given it's not a counterfeit copy, it's legit, I have the GE CD reissue (got it when it came out in the early 90's through a reputable mail order catalogue deal that only sold legit items) and I used to see the cassette versions in well known high street chain shops when I was in the UK (if this is of any help).

Thanks, John.

I am thinking it might be a good quality pirate of the original GE edition.

I've got a program somewhere that tells you the manufacturing details of a CD-R, but I haven't had a chance yet to give it a spin in that to see if it is a CD-R.

I was too busy playing it!

The cover insert is a single piece of card folded double, the front cover looks recreated rather than just a resized reprint of the LP cover (but I'll pull out the LP to compare) and the inside images are copies of the LP inner cover but they're a bit blurry and aren't quite square to the page.

Oh, I like that album so much!

That recording of "Not Fade Away" was as fun & kinky as the one Tom Petty played in Tempe AZ in July 1985 (with guest Stevie Nicks on backup vocal).

Did anyone here ever see that lengthy documentary film on the making of "The Visitor"? I never saw that damn thing! It's never been easy to track down. It ends with a concert Mick & the boys gave to the locals. Which Fleetwood Mac songs did they play in that concert?

I'm still looking for that, I recall it was only released on those RCA CED laserdiscs and I understand those didn't go very long before inheriting skipping problems, so any VHS dubs out there might have been recorded with the skips in them. If anyone knows where we can get a clean copy of this, please post about it here.

The promo video sounds like fun.

The CD is definitely a CD-R.
