Wasn't As Long as You Follow the biggest single between The Mask and The Dance?

From Dan Carman's Blog April 21, 2014

http://dancarman.blogspot.com/2014/0...latest-18.html

•Behind the Mask - Fleetwood Mac (1990) - I have long been a fan of Fleetwood Mac. Their Rumors album from 1977 still plays tricks on my mind given its strong association to my adolescence. This song from their 1990 album of the same name did not include Lindsey Buckingham as a member of the group. However, Lindsey did contribute his unmistakable acoustic guitar to this one. This Christine McVie number is a strong piece with a haunting melody. Angel in black, I recognize the shadows from your past.

•Friend - Christine McVie (2004) - McVie's work on her 2004 solo album was the reason why she did not participate in Fleetwood Mac's 2003 Say You Will. This song is a gem about the pain of being alone and longing for relationships that have since crumbled to dust.

As Long As You Follow peaked at #43 while Save Me peaked at #33. The have not had a top 40 hit since then although Landslide made it to #51.

Lindsey played guitar on as long as you follow ? I though Vito did, hence the video, lol

No, it was "Behind the Mask" (the title track of the album) that the clip is referring to.

I think the thing that killed the album in the States was the singles selection.....WB blew it!
As for it being the "artistic low point" for the band.......sorry, but I think most fans ~ and critics! ~ think TIME holds that title!!!!

I can remember being so disappointed by Behind the Mask. As many times as I played it and willed myself to like it I never could. I think Time is surprisingly half decent- Christine's songs in particular are generally better. Perhaps the success of the likes of Hold Me, Little Lies and Everywhere led her to rely just too much on repetitive hooks. With Skies the Limit and Save Me I think she just went overboard. Both albums would have benefited from Lindsey's hand in the production. I think Richard did a decent job on Time, though overall its a bit lightweight and could have been beefed up a bit. I think BTM is the lower point musically.
