Rather interesting camera angle...

Default Question for MS Moose

Thanks for the video's, he looks great and seems to have more energy than seen in recent postings.

I have heard that the blues seen in Norway is as active now as it was back in the day, and I am curious to know how it compares with Denmark and other Skandanavian countries.

Your thoughts?

Evan

Hello Evan
I am not very knowledgeable with regard to the norwegian blues scene. I know that Sweden has always had a very active blues scene, with many blues venues and some very very good musicians (guitarists) and dedicated followers. (There is something very bluesy about Sweden). I think that Norway comes close to it. With regard to my own country, Denmark - there is not a lot going on. There are a few "blues societies" - so to speak, like Odense Blues Festival that makes a pilgrimage to the Chicago Blues Festival each year. Copenhagen has an annual festival as well. And in Copenhagen there is ONE very very small club -"The Mojo"- in which only blues is being played (I heard/saw Magic Slim and Eddie Kirkland there last year), but I am sorry to say we don't any really great blues players (in my humble opinion). If this was not anonymous I would probably get lynched for saying this
I have an idea that Finland might have quite a bit of blues. Eddie Kirklands band was finnish/swedish.

Maybe one of the norwegian ledgies can give you a better answer...

After seeing Peter play with the Splinter Group 3 different times, I must say that these clips and this version of The Stumble is the best playing he has done in a very long time.
I'm very happy that he is playing so well.

Simply brilliant! Thank you for posting those clips--best I've seen in a long time. I was completely speechless watching and will no doubt watch and re-watch repeatedly...

I think Mario is right, he's really back.

Not only does he look like he lost a little weight, he really plays with more confidence compared to February of this year. Regrettably his patent "fire" will never be what it was in his early 20's, but he never lost his fire for "The Stumble". That performance trumps any Splinter Group video I've seen. Another aspect I noticed from the videos is his focus in his facial expressions. He looks like he's alert, and in the moment. Thats a major change from Green looking as if he was medicated, or lost. Not so much the past year, but he looks more alert in December, compared to Amsterdam in February. Mike Dodd is a mench.

Yes, there is a new light in his eyes, he really came alive, back full in action....

Mike Dodd certainly did great things for Peter!

Good news for Christmas!

Mario.

Yes I agree with you and Mario.

"Fire" and contained vitality always was PG's hallmark (is that the right word?), and with the certain type of health problem he is supposed to have it's a miracle he can play like he does at the moment (by this I mean with the pressure of touring and for PG: doing the same thing night after night and so on.) I wonder what it is Mike Dodd has done? Maybe this will be shared in a volume two of the biography?

I think the weight means a lot voice-wise when you are not a natural "belter", but have a light barytone sort of voice. So for christmas: lay of the sweets and stodgy food, PG and put on your running shoes!
(Who am I to speak - I would never be able to do that myself )
