This is heartbreaking. I can't even begin to express how much I love her, how her music makes me feel and how much pleasure she has given me for almost 40 years.

Default Goodbye

Goodbye beautiful songbird.

So sad to see her go.

Default Somehow Perfect weather

It's very rainy and windy in Boston, so it feels almost appropriate to receive such saddening news. I will drink a bit too much wine tonight, I can tell, and each top-up will be in honor of a unique person, talent, voice... :-(

I’m completely in shock. I’d been dreading this day for a long time, but I didn’t expect it to be her, or now. She was my favorite member of the band and generally my favorite musician of all time. Words can’t adequately express the impact her music had on the world. When she came back in 2014 and I got to see her on tour several times, it was nothing short of a dream come true; I’m so grateful to have those memories, but I just thought we’d have a little more time. The chain is broken. I am broken. I don’t know how to be okay after this.

For everyone else on here who’s feeling the same way, you’re in my thoughts. In a community as devoted as this one, it hits so much harder than just losing a celebrity.

Her songs are the ones that really have the most generous spirit and speak to everyone’s struggles more than her own. I will miss her greatly. With this band, it has often felt like the quality of the music surpassed the character of the people making it. With Christine you always felt that she was as beautiful on the inside as her songs were on the outside.

I’m sorry, but I really do not get Steve’s tribute. What in the name of hell has Haim got to do with Christine McVie. I know she means well, but come on……ffs!

What the heck am I missing?

Listen to it - it seems to resonate with her at this moment. Not more, not less.

I'm in shock, I didn't imagine this would happen so soon.

beautifully said, i'm stealing this and posting it everywhere.

she lived fulfilling life till the very end, and made this world a better place.

she was just nominated for a grammy, and Everywhere has been used so well in that commercial and made it to the top of streams.

It’s kind of funny to think about the first song you run to play. There were two songs that immediately swamped my brain and memory: When the Train Comes Back and Never Make Me Cry.

Chris, with her lack of fuss, may have preferred her fans play Sugar Daddy or Think About Me or something with a little rock and roll in it. Ballads and rock, soul and blues . . . . Forty years ago, Jim Ladd called Christine and John McVie the “signature of Fleetwood Mac.” I’m sure there will be tributes and kind words from musicians and celebrities all over the world, because she was the kind of quiet talent whom you don’t fully appreciate — until she’s gone. Peaceful journey, idol of mine.

There's no use in crying, it's all over
But I know there'll always be another day
Well my heart will rise up with the morning sun
And the hurt I feel will simply melt away
You make me feel, I just can't carry on
But I know I won't always be that way
'Cos my heart will rise up with the morning sun
And the hurt I feel will simply melt away
You don't have to give up
Why is it all wrong
Why don't you love me
Why won't you just be strong

For some strange reason, Mean Old World was the first song that came to mind, here.

Good night and God bless you Christine.
Prayers for The Perfect Family members. Thanks to those who took good care of Christine and those who let her know what a blessing she was to life.
