So sad. He winked at me during Christine's solo tour
He wrote some great songs with Chris and is inspiration for one of the best Mac songs ever... Nights in Estoril

Please don't everyone flame Christine for not posting to social media. She does not do that. People don't have to constantly wear their feelings publicly with the world.

From the web:

BLITZ - Eddy Quintela, the Portuguese from Fleetwood Mac, died

Songwriter, keyboardist and composer of Portuguese origin, Eddy Quintela was also the second husband of Christine McVie, a key element in the formation of Fleetwood Mac. For the North American band, Quintela composed with McVie numerous songs between the years 1987 and 1997 Among them is the hit "Little Lies" from the album Tango in the Night, released in 1987. The hit helped this LP to become the second best seller in Mac Fleetwood's entire career.

They divorced in 2003, but continued to collaborate on Christine McVie's solo album, published the following year. One of Eddy Quintela's themes for the American band, “Nights in Estoril”, alludes to the couple's passage in Portugal, where the musician established several connections, namely in the Cascais line, with Marita Leon (with whom he maintained a musical project in the decade 1990) and Fernando Cunha dos Delfins. The song would be published on Fleetwood Mac's Time album, which came out in 1995. In an interview with the British newspaper Guardian, McVie would say, however, "he was not happy in love".

C'mon now
PLEASE let Portugal have its pride. He co-wrote one of the Mac's biggest hits. He was married to the most fabulous Mac member. Marriage does come with equal rights you know. Let him shine in all his glory.

You cannot translate languages word by word. Clearly in the translation, it hinted he was a member. Its also something that makes him more relevant for those in Portugal to know who he was and the impact he had on the band. Chris was on fire during the Tango sessions and he was the reason why.
Credit where credit is due!

And now for my long distance dedication. May you rest in peace Eddy. It was a pleasure to watch you play and thank you for giving Christine some great years.

'They divorced in 2003, but continued to collaborate on Christine McVie's solo album, published the following year'

Hmmm. He was well in the past when she recorded the album. The songs had already been written- they weren't still collaborating.
Sad for any family he had. He made Chris very happy for a significant period of time. However, I think their split was very acrimonious so I wouldn't blame her if she chooses not to pass comment.

Well, she did dedicate a song to him called " Liar."

that's what you got from my post?

I was simply commenting on the awkwardness of the translation into English. I know how it is said in Portuguese, but in English it'd be something like "the Portuguese songwriter" who was married to Christine McVie. In English the wording "The Portuguese" just sounds harsh. Like something your uncle who doesn't like foreigners would say.

I wasn't even going to address the part where they make him sound like he was actually a member of the band. I mean, if he was, then so was everyone else's spouse or partner.

History seems to show that Chris didn't necessarily have the best record when picking men.

yeah i put it in Little Lies thread on Rumours board because i thought he belongs there with all those Mac co-writes - but should have done a separate thread.

Just now seeing this. Condolences to his family and friends.

Some of their collaborations are among my very favorites of Christine's songs. I have a soft spot for "Temporary One" especially, because of my warm memories of watching The Dance premiere. "As Long as You Follow" is as good of a love song as she ever recorded.
