GoS Lyrics
I'm surprised that the lyrics for the songs on GoS are not up on the net yet. Does anyone have any tips?

The Ledge:
Every bone has been broken Rumors of awful scenes Every word, every language has been spoken Someone’s got to set you free Shuffle Riff / Wait For You Written by L. Buckingham Tarantula passes by your window No one takes it as a sign No one cares which way the wind blows Someone’s got to change your mind Every bone has been broken Rumors of awful scenes Every word, every language has been spoken Someone’s got to set you free Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh I don’t want to wait for you Oh, oh, no Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh I don’t want to wait for you The suicide days Suicide, suicide nights In a wheelchair, almost blind Someone’s going to have to pay the price Someone’s got to change your mind Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh I don’t want to wait for you Oh, no, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh I don’t want to wait for you Is it just a separate voice? Did you hear what they said? Is it only that you’re lonely? Did you stay here every day? Is your lie justified? Kick your holes through your door Did you dive with him right on the floor, floor, floor? Oh... Oh... Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh I don’t want to wait for you Oh, no, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh I don’t want to wait for you No one knows my name No one knows my name Walking down the street baby now No one knows my name No one knows my name Walking down the street baby now No one knows my name No one knows my name Oh, we're walking down the street baby now No one knows my name No one knows my name Walking down the street baby now Walking down the street baby now Walking down the street baby now No one knows my name No one knows my name Walking down the street baby now Walking down the street baby now Walking down the street baby now

The Ledge: I'm a little lost, let me find my way
I'm a little dead, let me live Twist of Fate / Right Place to Fade Written by L. Buckingham I'm a little lost, let me find my way I'm a little dead, let me live Been living in the past, let me rise today Led a selfish life, let me give How long, how long, how long How long we wait Wait for the light that might light our way Wait for the right twist of fate (Right Place to Fade) You were living under the reign of kings You were living under the gun I know it made you do a lot of things You wish that you'd never done How long, how long, how long We hesitate Wait for the light that might light our way Wait for the right twist of fate (Right Place to Fade) Rah-ta-ta-ta-ta Rah-ta-ta-ta-ta Rah-ta-ta-ta-tah Rah-ta-ta-ta-ta Rah-ta-ta-ta-ta Rah-ta-ta-ta-tah Come along, lay down and talk to me Tell me all your fear will allow It doesn't matter who we thought we were We ain't got time for it now How long, how long, how long How long we wait Wait for the light that might light our way Wait for the right twist of fate (Right Place to Fade) I swear, I swear, I swear It's not too late Wait for the light that might light our way Wait for the right twist of fate (Right Place to Fade) Wait for the light that might light our way Wait for the right twist of fate (Right Place to Fade) Wait for the right twist of fate Wait for the right twist of fate

Underground
Give us a song but don’t live what you sing Say what you mean but please don’t mean a thing I think I might wander underground I think I might wander underground They heard 15 seconds and that was enough The idea was new but the business was rough I think I might wander underground I think I might wander underground I go to my lover, we lay on our bed Did I sell my heart for the dreams in my head? I think I might wander underground I think I might wander underground Last edited by trackaghost; 09-06-2008 at 06:48 PM.. |

Did You Miss Me (courtesy of Christy)
I took a trip out of town A hundred years underground I had to swim across the sea Oh, when you were my baby (Chorus) Did you miss me in the morning Did you miss me in the evening When everyone is bound to dream Did you ever run where the wind blows Did you ever go where I didn't know Oh baby, did you miss me A hundred years out of town It's not so long, so I found Just long enough to get free Oh, when you were my baby Did you miss me in the morning Did you miss me in the evening When everyone is bound to dream Did you ever run where the wind blows Did you ever go where I didn't know Oh baby, did you miss me Look at us now The years fall down Show me how Check it out, hear the sound All these walls are comin' down That's just you, that's just me Oh, when you were my baby Did you miss me in the morning Did you miss me in the evening When everyone is bound to dream Did you ever run where the wind blows Did you ever go where I didn't know Oh baby, did you miss me |

Time Precious Time
Take all the time that you want Take all the time that you need Slow and easy You might succeed Time precious time Precious time Precious time Precious time Time precious time Precious time Precious time Precious time Searching for scars that you hide Looking beneath every stone Half deep, half empty This must be home Time precious time Precious time Precious time Precious time Time precious time Precious time Precious time Precious time Remember Remember Time precious time Precious time Precious time Precious time Time precious time Precious time Precious time Precious time Remember Remember Bel Air Rain Fighting for a cause I can’t remember anymore Well I guess you could say That I was framed Somebody said There'll be a knock at my door But the knock it never came I changed my name I went insane Still I can’t complain Standing in the Bel Air Rain Standing in the Bel Air Rain Standing in the Bel Air Rain In my younger days I was mistaken for a whore I guess you could say I lived in shame Well everyone’s peace Lives side by side With their war But eventually everyone gets tamed I changed my name I went insane Still I can’t complain Standing in the Bel Air Rain Standing in the Bel Air Rain Standing in the Bel Air Rain Treason I called you up They said you weren’t there Years ago, I was low, why should I care I wandered down Where the sky meets the sand Closed my eyes, told you lies, Out of my hand Deep down there’s freedom Deep down there will be a reason At the end of the season We will rise from this treason I walk around Under moonlit skies All alone, going home, hoping to fly Face down in the ocean Always gasping for air Saw your face, full of grace, Try not to care Deep down there’s freedom Deep down there will be a reason At the end of the season We will rise from this treason I walk, empty holes Wondering what is true Behind the garden walls I search for you Deep down in the ocean Deep down in the sea Saw your face, full of grace, searching for me Deep down there’s freedom Deep down there will be a reason At the end of the season We will rise from this treason Deep down there’s freedom Deep down there will be a reason At the end of the season We will rise from this treason We will rise from this treason We will rise from this treason We will rise from this treason Great Day Long and slender Altar in the sky And the warm winds blowing The river bed was flowing A star crossed lover Getting hotter and hotter I didn’t mean to hover I just had to love her Swimming in the water Goggle at the moon The currents they caught her Hiding in my room Mirrors in her eyes She was wet, she was soaking Ashes in the ocean And her heart was broken It was a great day, great day It was a great day, great day It was a great day, great day Great day, great day It was a great day, great day The day was dark and burning All the time we were learning The rules concerning Of the corner where we’re turning A wish that is walking Is just a crime scene talking If it’s a plea that you’re copping It’s just a door that you’re locking Great day, great day It was a great day, great day It was a great day, great day Great day, great day It was a great day, great day It wasn't such a great day It wasn't such a great day It wasn't such a great day I can't figure out a lot of the lyrics for Love Runs Deeper. Perhaps someone else can give them a go? Last edited by trackaghost; 09-12-2008 at 05:58 PM.. |

Um, the lyrics to Great Day are kind of...sexy.
Yay for Lindsey and, uh...Will. Bel Air Rain: "In my younger days I was mistaken for a whore/I guess you could say I lived in shame" Well then alright. Honesty must always be respected.

Well, thank you Sharon. They are all interesting lyrics.
For the whore part, I am wondering if he means the commercial success of Rumours. I remember Tom Petty saying something like he thought Fleetwood Mac was awful, but he came to see that they weren't. But the initial impression among "real musicians" was that FM was just a bunch of stars, with no real talent. So, maybe he is saying he was considered a whore, making pop music for the dollar. In Show You How , for that stanza when he said he was a mad man out on a bad man's route, I thought that meant he was looking for a prostitute or at least a woman who could give him some heady pleasure without strings. I am relieved that Great Day is really not about a "great day" and is an ironic title. That's what I wanted. I don't really like what I've heard from Time Precious Time, but I enjoy the line, "looking for scars that you hide, looking beneath every stone, half deep, half empty. This must be home." Remember we had "full of grace" in Eyes of the World. All sounds good. Michele |
