songbird - her dog / john
ricky - richard dashut (thanks to mary anne for that!)

Btw, he's full of sh*t, IMO.
Maybe Cocaine Daddy, or Bankruptcy for Dummies, Daddy.

I've never heard her say anything about "Sugar Daddy". Where did you hear this, Aisling?

That's my opinion on what "Sugar Daddy" is about. Not *about* anybody, just thinking wishfully (and playfully).

i believe the first source that AliP credits, "up close", is the interview i was thinking about. i tried to look for it in the BLA, but couldn't find it. i actually think the date may not be 87, but more like 89. if anyone has more info, let us know! if not, i'll try looking again tomorrow.

Yes, she did say "Ask Anybody" was about Dennis Wilson, especially the line....He's a devil, he's an angel.

I also believe her Mirage songs were about Dennis. As for "Brown Eyes", I'd love to know who this song is about. Maybe Dennis as well, although I don't think he actually had brown eyes. She could have just changed the color because it sounded better.

And, I agree with Gail that "Brown Eyes" is the sexiest Fleetwood Mac song ever, by far. By the way, I think "Anything Is Possible" & "Come Out To Play" from ITM are also very sexy songs too, in a playful sort of way.

Yes they are too.

"You could take me out, you could lay me down" - I think there should be a bit taking of out before any laying down happens.

"You are a sexy man" - just say it how it is Chris

really?? now i am SO upset she never answered. i can't even remember what my questions were, it was so long ago.

if she ever decides to redo her website, she should definitely post some of the Q&As. preferably in video format, like the clips of her and dan that are up now.

At one time, the moderator of the site mentioned that Gavin(the administrator) had heard from Dan Perfect that Chris was recording her answers on cassette tape. I had hoped that they would post the answers as audio downloads, which would have been cool.

By the way, I had also asked about who she wrote "Show Me A Smile" about. I've always been curious about that.

According to Mick's book, Hold me was also about Dennis.

Never knew Little Lies was about or for Lindsey. I don't see the point.

and Songbird.. for her dog??? She said in the Rumours doc it was about "nobody and eveybody"

She said in that Japan documentary footage that "Songbird" was about her dog. She was only kidding. She has described "Songbird" as a Fleetwood Mac prayer, that it was about the band in general.

Chris said that "Save Me" was originally written about the rain forests. But, she thought that sounded weird, so she changed it around a little by adding a romantic element to it.

"Temporary One" was written about her family in England.

Well, I like to think that she wrote it about ME, after that 1976 Eric Clapton concert when we met.

Logically, (but still a guess) I think she wrote it for John...and/or the remaining then members of Fleetwood Mac. Fleetwood Mac had just undergone another traumatic personnel change (Jeremy Spencer's departure; Bob Welch's arrival) and the band probably needed cheering up.

But, it sounds like it was written for a young child. I'm guessing, maybe a nephew. Maybe even Dan Perfect, who would have been around the right age in the early 1970's.

When was Cyrill Perfect born? Was it after Show Me a Smile came out?
