And edit: the vocals in that first part of the clip, wow - it's almost like she found that voice for an instant. It's beautiful.
Especially during the "And I'm unsure and I can't see my way".

The song reminds me of old tunes from the 40's and her 'southern accent' that she conjures up works perfectly in this!
I figured Lady was going to be Knockin On Doors. The lyrics have always made me think that she's talking about being a cleaning Lady and Knocking On Doors for work while she waits for that big break (light). Like she wishes she could see into the future and find out how or when it will happen.
But Lindsey assures her; "Lady, you don't need to see" ...... It will happen!

And now Stevie gets to tell us the story many years later. After she obtained 'the light'. It's rather touching.

This surprised the hell out of me. Her vocals are AMAZING!!! This is her best vocal performance in a long time. It's so lovely to hear her range for once because for the last few years she hasn't properly shown what she can really do. This album is going to be bloody brilliant.

...GOOSEBUMPS!!!

What a rocker, huh!? Hope you're ok...you're at the epicenter! Rode it out myself with my dog and haven't been able to return to sleep. Best to you.

Oh and love the snippet. I don't think I've ever heard the demo before either. Her wonderful vibrato seems back. I hate to say this, but I always thought she sang differently after Steve Real came into the picture and Stevie proclaimed she never took lessons until then. I like her voice better untrained and wild.

The 15-second clip posted on Instagram features a different portion of the song:

I like the way her voice sounds on the Instagram clip. She's straining badly on the first part of that iTunes clip. Meh. This is probably going to be one of those depressing songs I don't listen to much, like Has Anyone Ever Written...?

I wasn't sure about this on first listen, probably because I'm not familiar with the demo. Now after several more listens, I can understand why everyone is raving about this clip - it's fabulous, and I'm now addicted to playing it. I could be wrong..... but I think this album is going to be spectacular How lucky are we?!!!!

Her rich vocals along with beautiful vibrato only add to this classic song.

Yes, and I like this 15 second part waaay better than the 90 second part on ITunes.
At least for me, this'll be one of those songs you need to hear the whole thing to appreciate.

If you DO want to listen to the whole song, you're in luck...

iTunes didn't have it when I finally went to bed at half two but I set my alarm for five and checked and *gestures towards http://buckinghamnicks-ff.tumblr.com/post/95661880119 *
