It's streaming now on Beats Music;
which I highly recommend over Spotify.

I think this album is going to do really well.
Musically, this is right where she belongs.

Since In Your Dreams, she's been doing her strongest
work since Bella Donna.

All the planets of the universe seem to be lining up in Stevie's favor. It's like she has come full circle. Of course not everyone will have that opinion.

Yet it seems this album is getting a lot of buzz and might achieve the acclaim and success similar to Bella Donna. Dave Stewart has his critics, but you can't deny he has been an inspiration to Stevie, and the catalyst to the revitalization of her solo career.

I really agree with you. The tracks I have heard and the build-up all feel so much like the Bella Donna era. And yes, I think Dave Stewart has been a huge part of making this possible. His Nashville connections and quick approach to recording were such a benefit to this project.

Just as a side note, when Stevie sings "we've been together" the first time, she's hitting a high Bb on the "we've"!
She must have been having a really good day in the studio to hit that, she hasn't done it confidently since Bella Donna?
FYI Gold Dust Woman peak is a high A.

Just within the past few years, her vocal range seems to either be improving...or she's getting more confident/willing to take more chances in the studio. 99% of the snippets we've heard reflect that she's singing in the same key as the original demo which is AMAZING ~ Especially "Cathouse Blues"!!! The only thing she's gone lower on has been "Lady". Interestingly enough, she's singing in a higher key on "Mabel" than her original demo for it.

I've always wondered if the biggest factor in Stevie's "limited" range is the fact that it seems that she likes to sit down while recording in the studio and rehearsing. It's well known amongst professional musicians that you have to stand to sing properly, in order to get full use from your diaphragm. To this day I wonder what "Destiny Rules" would sound like had she simply stood up for the final take. Maybe she did, but from the documentary it doesn't look like it.

There's no doubt - she doesn't have the range she used to, but I think certain environmental factors such as sitting during recording / rehearsing have enabled her to settle into a comfort zone a little prematurely.

Because of Starshine and Lady, I'm actually looking forward to Mabel and 24k and I don't like the demos.
