I LOVE Lindsey, but this is so true. I could laugh endlessly about it.

you know it's funny, I was watching an interview recently with Paul Stanley (from Kiss..he's hyping a book) and he said something like "make no mistake about it, guys on stage in torn jeans and teeshirts are wearing a costume just as much as I am" and explained that you know, they are rich and make millions and live in mansions but are perpetuating the myth that they are still the same struggling musicians they were before. That it's all about a deliberate creation of an image.

Seinfeld often remarked that the others got into wardrobe for the show and he did too. He took off his own jeans, sneakers and sweater and put on another set of almost identical jeans, sneakers and sweater. He couldn't explain fully why he bothered to change, but it was part of the process of performing.

Of course, the problem in FM is Lindsey doesn't bother to change enough.

Just hope you aren't downwind…

And it's kind of funny considering just HOW much money he has. Didn't Stevie once say he made the most because he got a producer's cut? (now that might mean he made most on FM albums; one would have to think she's made more overall due to the success of her solo career. Still, he ain't hurting. Buy a new freaking shirt)

i do think he swims in money... but i wonder how can someone get a producer's cut if they are not listed as a producer? you don't get the cut just because everybody says you were de facto producer. their biggest selling album by far was Rumours and he was not listed as a producer there, it was the whole band so they'd all get the same cut, right?

i guess he was listed as a producer on Mirage, Tango and SYW?

then, there are royalty cuts songwriters get. i'm guessing there SN must have made by far the most with Landslide. although Don't Stop must have made tons for Christine, as well as her Tango hits. GYOW probably made tons for LB, as well as HR.

and he seems not to have blown (no pun intended) as much on coke as Stevie, or Mick. And his grasp of the business side of show business seems pretty good, and likely he has maximized his income and his investments over the years (sold that house for almost 20 million!!). Can't feel too sorry on that score for any of them.

You could say that about Stevie too. At some point in her progression she became allergic to color. How many versions of black dresses can you have? Her minimal varients are almost as limited as Linsdey's white tee-shirts. Only on a rare occasion, like a sighting of Big Foot, does she bust out a dress that isn't black. I still can't over the fact that she chose to wear a white, bride-like dress to Mick Fleetwood's wedding. What the hell was she thinking?

That is why I love photos from the era 1975-1982. Their clothes were visually more diverse and interesting, with much more color and style.

Look at the recent photo in the promotion for their upcoming tour. All of them are dressed in black! They almost look an old biker gang. It's harsh and overdone.

That's just pandering; entirely an assumption, based on nothing.

I think it says something along the lines of "Produced by Ken Caillat, Richard Dashut and Fleetwood Mac, with special thanks to Lindsey Buckingham" on the earlier albums, so he might get a cut for that?

I assume he did get a producer's cut, per the band's agreement, at least from Tusk on. They gave him a special thanks on the album, but I think they gave him somewhat more than that contractually.

Actually Stevie and Mick have said it too, as has Lindsey. So, I don't think it's based on nothing.

And she said he spent a lot less too than they did. As Mick said, Lindsey only needs a nice car and some jeans. But that was before he had a family. Kristen and the kids' expenses probably make up for the years he didn't spend anything.
